Just installed my ALTA intake

I love the sound. Its kick ***. I purchased the tube, and it seems to be resting slightly against the side of the intercooler...I cant figure out how to post pix, or I would put a pic up. Does everyones do this, or should i figure out a way to make sure it isnt rubbing?

Yes, the ALTA CAI is awesome sounding

btw, FYI, you can't host pic's from your PC, must upload to the internet. The NAM gallery is currently in transition.

Cheers,
Ryan

You looked at mine the other day and it does not rub. Twist it some and see if that will work. I know getting the tube on the throttle body is a *****,maybe you need to adjust it there and make sure it flush on the bottom.

Whats up guys, I have the Alta and the tube I have rubs too. I remembered having to cut a bunch of material off to get it to fit right, called Randy @ Webb as well and he assured me that the piece was good and that some of them do rub the side of manifold. I've had mine on there for about 15,000 miles and the rubbing is starting to wear away some of the tube, very little though. If it ends up getting a soft spot in the area that rubs, I'll know then that we have a problem and will see how I get taken care of. take care all! I like the look of this guy.

YO , you mean shave the bottom part that fits around the throttle body right. I did not shave the sides to try and prevent rubbing. I was told the rubbing is not an issue.......at least not yet. motor motor.

Someone care to explain why the Alta makes more tone than my Pilo?

Is it the filter?

not sure EXACTLY why yet, I think its the larger intake pipe and the fact that its smooth inside. I think the stock one's inner ribs coould be quieting the intake a bit. I do plan on trying the K&N filter with the Alta box and tube as I wondered the same thing in the past. I put the Alta mainly because it looked more trick and because except for tube, was free...won in raffle.
We'll see what happens. take care.

Two days ago I enabled attachments, so users can upload pics straight from their PC without needing to go to the gallery.

You can access this function by looking in the "Additional Options" area when you are typing your post. Click on Manage Attachments to select the file from your hard drive and then upload them.

The alta makes more noise due to the back bulkhead of the stock airbox being removed with the alta. If you want more sound out of your alta, do the Webb Swiss Cheese airbox mod. Worked like a charm on mine.
