Maybe it would be worthwhile calling and talking to Randy Webb at Webbmotorsports.com or
Eric Savage at Helix13.com or Peter Horvath at M7 to start.

Why aren't you considering a lightweight flywheel like the UUC?

UUC makes the flywheel/clutch combo for about $900. the flywheel has a sprung hub which is supposed to quiet down the chatter from the lightened flywheel.

Word of warning on the UUC package...

I ordered the set, and had them installed at the same time as the Phantom Grip.
It's the first time I've ever put a lightweight flywheel, so I'm not sure if it's usually louder than this, but according to some people it's not as loud as theirs, so if you know the sound of it, and like it, go for it.

The warning is about the clutch...they uuc part number was the wrong one and they were shipping out the wrong clutch (which is a Spec clutch btw) Now that they are aware of this they probably fixed that problem, but I'm gonna have to pay for another 10hr job to get that fixed...luckily, when they were told about the problem, they gave me a credit for the job, so all it is is a little inconvenience, but still, make sure it's the right cluch before you proceed.

lightweight flywheel and Phantom Grip are awsome...but the flywheel is a little loud (when you are not accelerating or have the clutch pressed in) but changing y driving technic has helped...so I'm very happy. I haven't done the clutch yet as it works fine with the stock clutch and they guy that did it said if he never has to do one of these again, he would not be too upset

Tanks Cheese!

There are basically two clutch systems out there. The Spec (stage 1, 2 or3) or the Sachs (which I believe has a sprung disk). Most guys are selling the Spec as their own and some are charging over list for the privlige of buying it from them.

I bought a Spec stage 3 and a Fidanza flywheel. The stage 3 will certainly hold up to track abuse and is streetable though not as friendly as the stage 2 and other "non-puck" type friction plates.

BTW, it seems that some of the noise is related to the throwout bearing. My setup is surprisingly quiet though louder than stock.

I bought mine from Dan Miller at Clutch Express (www.clutchexpress.com). He was very helpful, is very knowledgable as he does installations as well, and is a Fidanza distributer and his pricing was the best I found.

a most important number, illustrated by Blue, is the Franklin count.

thanks guys
the heavy fly holds its momentum so once it gets going it will keep going more so than a lightweight fly. i prefer this so that is why.
thanks for the info though everyone

That's how we know the Fidanza is 12.5 lbs!

I do believe a few of those dead presidents are yours too!

>>who is that guy?

M7

>>This thread is great but it has not given me a lot to savor, I would like the numbers. I would like to see charts, weights, graphs, longevity reports, etc. And yes, I am in the market for the whole shibang!

And just exactly which charts, weights and graphs would you like to see?

Reports? Reports?? We don't have no stinking reports!!!
