Hi! I have been looking at systems for my MCS. I have looked at the tons of information out there and done nothing to act, waiting to see what is new. The pictures of the Rspeed MCS look very good. There are raves about their MC system, but nothing yet posted about the MCS version. Anybody got one? I would really like to know more. Thanks in advance!

done nothing to act, waiting to see what is new.

The problem with this is like buying a computer and waiting for the latest to hit the maket...it never does as things change too fast.

You will hear about a new chip that is coming out SOON and wait for it while I am having fun with whatever I got. I know it cost money, however, if something GREAT comes out next week you can always upgrade later.

I say check out what is availabel NOW and choose what you like and DO IT.

Ya, I agree...at first i sat and waited and waited watching all the new exhausts come out and added the new ones to my lists of choices....I never actually made a decision.

If i were you, i would try to find out what it sounds like and if you like the noise then i would get it. I figure Rspeed will turn out some pretty nice numbers if its anything like their MC exhaust.

And it helps that the tips on the new Rspeed are beyond sexy

Good luck in your decision

No, I am a computer guy and know what you are talking about. I however do not want to shell out $700+ without hearing or seeing something in action. My first three cars didn't cost $700! There is a lot of ranting and raving on this site and others. What appeals to those folks might not appeal to me. Everyone seems to have an opinion that is "right." Let me figure that out with the appropriate information. Thanks!

I agree with "Let me figure that out with the appropriate information." Listen to them and pick what sounds good o you, but don't keep waiting because someone else is "coming out" with something new and better next week.

By the way the first car I owned cost me $20.00.

Thanks guys for the nice comments.

I will say that Number #1 praise we have gotten from the few Mini owners who have bought these systems are overwheming expression of :
"Man, its sound Beautiful", What Cool Sound". etc....

I can not tell how much a pat on the back means to us vendors considering all we go through to make stuff for such small profits most of the time.

I went into costs involed when making an exhaust for the Cooper S on another thread.

Basically , it is like making 1and 3/4 of a system. 2 Mufflers. 2 Tips , Y pipe, and a resonator B Pipe; it adds up$$$

For affordability you can build a single can exhaust but the bends required can cause vibrations and loss of power problems.

Yet, the most important factors are were you have it made and how many can you build and hope to sell??

Yes, economies of scale which are nowhere to be found in in nitche markets like this

Anyway, I am curious, which one of the 2 systems do you guys find more appealing and why?????

The one with the straight cut tips?

Or the one with the angle cut tips?

We have no plans to release our internal dyno figures until they can be backed up by customer or third party dyno runs.

I had hoped to send 2 units to Randy for testing but I see he is so busy these day and there is no telling when he will get to them.

We are looking for a few honest, active forum members that are will to purchase them at reduced prices, dyno the exhausts, and tell it like it is!!!!!

We coulds also rebate say $50.00 towards dyno time per participant.

Still, as with most items we sell you get a 30 day money back gaurantee if you are not happy with the item.

If any one is interested contact me directly

Love the angled tips. Too bad I just bought a Magnaflow, as I am near Atlanta and would have been happy to give it a customer test drive. . . .

Also liked that your installation pic shows it being carefully installed with the bubble wrap in place to prevent scratches during installation. Gives me a really good feeling about having work done by RSpeed in the future

I like the angle cut tips over the straight. I notice that the prototype exhaust shows two styles of Y joints, one is mandrel bend like JCW shown in the straight tip pics and then other is more single pipe split to two parallel pipes that then bend out to the sides. Which style will go to production?

Testing and Dyno numbers would be good for MCS stock with Rspeed exhaust only and for MCS with pulley and intake with and without Rspeed exhaust. Before and after dynos done at the same shop. I'd send some to eric at Helix13 and ask for the dyno tests.

The Rspeed exhaust for the MCS looks great. But as with any new exhaust the fit and finish of the production unit may vary from the prototype. Great sound is a plus- how about some video clips (interior and exterior sound)? A good price like $650 is appreciated.
What about the warranty? Any droning?

Great pictures!

Minihune,

Both are in production,

How crazy is that?

The straight cut tipped exhaust is Made in Germany; it is built like a tank; this one is built by the same factory taht make our famous cooper exhaust.
We never ment to make these but it was a surprise from the builder since he had many requests in Germany for an S version of the cooper exhaust

The angle cut model which we call Type 2 is US assembled from various parts; it has a cool header style y pipe for which gives it fat bottom end power.

No Drone, Drone is the enemy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see you are in Hawaii,
Shipping is not cheap!

Check you PMs

Maganaflow is a cool exhaust; you will be happy.

i like the angled tips too. for some reason i don't like the looks of the "MINI" logo engraved on the tips of the straight tips. i would definitely consider this exhaust once i hear some sound clips and see some testing results. overall looks great.

Joe, I do live in Atlanta and have been looking forward to working with you guys on all my aftermarket upgrades. I don't have the time, tools, or confidence in my ability for most suspension or engine mods, so you guys will probably be spending my installation $$$ regardless of where the part comes from.

RSpeed has done several MINI projects for me, always with a level of service beyond what I expected. As for parts and accessories, they won't sell what they they haven't tried, and their prices are always fair.

Let me know,
Our sevice department is presently running about 2-3 weeks booked for bigger jobs; intakes , exhaust tires, oil changes can be squeezed in between. So pulleys and springs have to be scheduled in advance.
We are well know for our resonable prices and the utmost care for working on your pride and joy.

Ex: Stainless Taper Bore Pulleys installed for $400.00 inclusive!

I alway tell people please do not feel like you have to buy something to stop by and check the place out or say high.
We stock most of the popular stuff but we do not mind if you carry or drop ship stuff in from other vendors like Randy, BMP, Moss, Pilo,etc...

We garantee you will learn something useful.

At your service

Joseph

I saw the exhaust in person and it looks great. I have had work done at RSpeed and they really do a top notch job and they stand behind their products and service. I would seriously consider this exhaust myself, except I am forfeiting my MCS to BMW in the next week or so, and I will have to wait for my '05.

Its too bad no one had an RSpeed exhaust available for comparison during the exhaust shoot-out at the Dragon event. I'm still waiting to place my MINI order (need to sell our 2002 Trailblazer, and we close on a new house on 6/25), but I'm collecting a list of parts / ugrades I want. This is my list so far in order of install:

Immediately
1) Kazera KZ-S 18x7 w/Pirelli PZero Nero M&S (215/23/18)
2) H-sport springs
3) H-sport lower rear adjustable control arms

3-6 months
4) 15% reduction pully
5) Alta CAI
6) Milltek exhaust (maybe RSpeed)
7) Helix Short Shift Kit

As soon as I can decide
UNIchip/Webb/Powerchip ECU

Maybe never
9) Rear sway bar
10) Webb ignition kit
11) Milltek header

Joe,

How does the loudness of this exhaust compare to the Miltek, Scorpion, borla sport and JCW? I like the looks of the angled tips and the dual merge pipes. I have the Scorpion on order but might change my mind if it's not too loud and the price is right. I would do the before and after dyno. I have a 15% pulley, CAI and Unichip along with plugs, wires etc. Let me know if you are interested.

Hey Dan

Both our systems are qieter than those.
The slant cut model is slightly quieter than the German produced system.

I do not want mess up another vendor sale but if does not come through for some reason give me a call.

The one you have on order is very a also cool system

I am Hope once I know the systems are pouplar, I will askRandy to write specific UNi CHip Programs for the Systems.

Hi Joe
I also am in Atlanta. I have the Quicksilver on now and have not been entirely happy with it. It seems a little restictive, and also vibrates under certain conditions. It is just a touch louder than I would prefer, but not bad in sound level. If your pipe makes more power at the same or less sound I would be interested. Send me the pricing please.

Anyone want a Quicksilver?

Wes

Indy Blue w/white, Quicksilver, Pilo CAI, 15% Pulley, cold plugs, Big Alta rear bar, no sunroof.

Wow! Is it really quieter than Milltek or the JCW?! That`s hard to believe.

Love the look of the systems, just need to hear a sound clip. If it is the same level as the Milltek, I will purchase it.

Clips please!

Paul.

Wes,
Some things to think about. I had a Quicksilver for 6 months then changed to Milltek.
If Rspeed slant tip similar to sound as Borla street or Milltek I think you will like it- this is less noisy than UUC or QS. Vibration may have to do with the install and your individual MINI-mine did not do that.
QS is restrictive but does produce decent power.

I have emailed you in regards to the try, test and tell.
Two different systems seem to be shown. One has the splitter where the twin pipes diverge to the mufflers and the other splits before then and carry forward before the 90 degree. One is probably heavier. Is there a performance difference? Milltek and Scorpion have the former I think.

BTW your system looks magnificent.
