Piggyback Question

Hi, this is my first MCS and i've seen various post about problems with piggybacks like racechip, what i want to know is what harm can cause to the engine or what kind of bad experience anyone had. Just curious because i don't want to hurt my engine since is a N18.

Done badly, it can kill the engine. It could run lean and burn a piston or valve, it could detonate and break a piston, ruined head gasket. What else do you want to know?

Even a badly done tune can do any of the above....
For now...IMO...WAIT...KEEP YOUR full warrenty intact...and when you feel it is time...you can send you ecu out and have it tuned if you want....

There is no working piggy back system for either N14 or N18 engine.

You can wait for BMS to come out with their piggy back tune. He's still working on it but they're widely known through the BMW forums. A buddy of mine has a tune from them and STS. He's raved about them, so every N18 owner is hoping this tune works out for the best. Not bad for Stage 1 at $300. But do your homework like I did on them, you'll be pleasantly surprised what they can achieve.

I'm beta testing the JB+, it's a night and day difference, starting only at 16psi.

I wish you luck. It would be nice if there was a domestic company that actually gave a crap about tuning the N14 and N18 MINIs.
