My Invidia exhaust is not loud enough

I recently installed the Invidia exhaust as well as RDM street intake. I was hoping to get a deep and loud aggressive tone but I must admit I am disspointed. Maybe coming from a loud corvette I am used to very loud exhaust. Does anybody have any suggeationns on what other modifications I can add to give my MINI a better, louder tone? Thanks

Your 4 banger MINI will never sound as good as a high strung V8. You are only going to get dirty looks from people as they secretly laugh. Not worth it!

Has the muffler had time to burn in? I installed a Invidia on my R53 a while back and thought the same thing. After some full throttle runs over a couple of weeks the tone came very nice.

I don't think you'd be happy with a straight pipe either. Asking 4 holes to do what 8 can do just isn't fair to the 4. An easy solution is a simple hardware swap. Just take the hood ornament off the MINI and slap it on a Vette and you're good to go.

I'm not trying to compare the MINI with the vette. All I'm saying is maybe I'm biased and in reality I have an exhaust that is commonly thought of as loud. That's why I'm asking. I'm not trying to replicate a corvette, just trying to ask if something like a downpipe might make the car sound more aggressive for example

Yeah the muffler has had time. It is a tad louder now. But I was just expecting louder. It's still a good product and makes some noise at high rpm. I'm not unhappy, I was just expecting more it seems

I believe a catless downpipe would be your answer.

Quiet when cruising, rowdy when you want it to be.

DP +1

Is the Invidia cat-back or DP-back? Still have 2nd cat?

It's DP back...2nd cat is deleted.

I also agree...get a catless DP and it will be great. That's the combo I had on mine, and its the deepest you can find. You can remove the resonator also, for a little more noise.

remove resonator aswell gives it a much better tone. But catless DP should make it louder

Yep. Plus let that exhaust break in for a couple thousand miles. It gets louder.

I have a dirty dirty noise coming from mine. No cat downpipe to a magnaflow resinator the straight to the 3in tips. Just added downpipe today. Huge difference in noise. Plus no muffler ;-)

I just replaced my Magnaflow system with the Invidia in order to quiet it down, and I find the Invidia obnoxiously loud... It's definitely louder than my Magnaflow was. It ended up being a waste of money considering I was aiming for quieter.

Sure you can.....

Just have to modify the exhaust and add some cams...

On another note, Invidia exhausts are notoriously poor designed internally. 99% of the ones that I've seen, the internals bottle-neck down to less than 2". This really restricts exhaust flow.
