hi everybody and thanks for this great treath!
Very usefull indeed it helps me to cut some dubts of mine on exhaust.

I'm Michele from Italy and I'm looking for a new exhaust for my cooper S 2002 and
Still I got final choice to make...I am considering borla race or alta sport tone.
Lots was written on borla less, I think, on alta sport tone (or maybe my poor english is loosing something).
Also from your signature I realised that most got milltek or borla. I did not find any alta in them.

I searched the net and I didn't find any important comments on alta sportone...except the official description.

I'm asking you further information about alta sport tone...why you suggest to choose it and why not. pros and versus of both exhaust.

thanks in advance

Michele

Here are some files of the Borla exhaust, as many people have requested.

http://rapidshare.de/files/19045336/...ve_By.mov.html
http://rapidshare.de/files/19045530/...nside.mov.html

Cabrio. One-Ball

Is there a difference in doing a One-ball conversion on a cabrio? Is there a pipe you can bolt on? John

I installed the Alta exhaust on my MCS, and in my opinion it is unparalled.I have installed MANY performance exhaust systems in my time on many cars, and the quality and fit and finish is phenomenal! I definitely made the right decision on this system.

This is the single sided one, right? How is the tone? Any droning at freeway speeds?

I wish I could have the same system but with the option of having only one straight outlet pipe like on the Cooper non "S", I sometimes wonder how much restriction those sharp hairpin elbows do.
I've been watching for a non S MINI exhaust but they are always 2.25" but cost a lot less, I'd hate to pay $700 and cut the pipe coming out of the muffler, but I sure like the Alta system.
I wouldn't mind buying a non S bumper skirt and have it come out like the base MINI.

Randy, is that run in the video the one you refer to as the one close to your house that you've been on hundreds of times? In other words, the unofficial test course for M7 products?

Yes that was one of the closely guarded secret M7 test facilities.

I don't know if this has already been posted, but here's the Larini exhaust that MINIWORKS sells. The video is over 6 min long.

You guys will love the new M7 exhaust. I've had mine for over a month and love it. Its on the loud side. I got the last proto from Peter at the last AMVV event in March. I've been quite all this time cause I told Peter I wouldn't say anything about it on NAM. I do have a nice closeup video clip of the exhaust and can post if its ok with Peter or Randy at M7.

Where is that exhaust, I keep reading about it on various posts but it's not on their web site and I still haven't seen any pictures of it.
