Hm....doesn't hurt to have the manifold removed to inspect the quality of the refurbed unit. You can always give my friend a call at his shop to have it checked out.

I don't even know anyone that actually bought the module. Did you actually get it!?

Does that Delete-R remove the cel and prevent the code from coming up? I've seen a pic of it and it seems to plug into the obd2 port. Am I correct?

Yes it plugs into the odb2 port. I had a brief P0420 but it went away in a few minutes. Not sure how it works as I've only had it one week. I purchased a scangauge II as well. I installed the scangauge today and it has a pending DTC but no light.

So the Delete-R actually works? That's good to know. So according to the instructions it looks like you still retain the OBD2 functionality and nobody would really know the module is installed unless they take apart the dash.

jkapinos, it looks like you have a 2013 R59 S is that right?

Yes. I'll post up what it does in the future, as it's only one week old. I have a Scangauge II installed, so yes the odb2 still works as normal.

Cool! I didn't even see your response above until just now. Where is this shop where you've been working?

Nah, I don't work there. Remember, I work in the film industry. I just go to his shop all the time when I'm not working. He's in El Monte, CA (San Gabriel Valley). Glendale isn't too far. 210, exit Myrtle and just head south.

Oh no, I knew that I meant to say where's this shop where you've been working on this? Don't worry, I didn't forget lol.

That isn't too far. Do you have the name or exact address?

LTBMW now LTMW. My friend Long has been referred to in 3 separate issues of European Car Magazine and is participating in European Car Tuner GP shoot out with a custom wide body, single turbo, 600+hp E90 335i.

Reviews on the shop courtesy of yelp.

Awesome, thanks for all the help! He's only 18 miles from me, I'll have to call him and get a time soon to stop by and see if my light can be turned off!

Thanks again!

If you do go in hit me up. I can stop by the shop since I literally live 10 mins away. My friend Long always tells me about MINI people that stop by whom I refer.

I'm sure they'll dig the matte white wrap too. They love my MINI and they are considering a MINI for the shop ever since I started to mod mine. They can see the potential from them. They're looking for a LSD equipped MINI though =P

So I went down to LTBMW to try to get my oil pressure adapter for my gauges installed and to check on the CEL situation.

Firstly Rene ended up giving up on the gauge adapter since it is so unnecessarily difficult to get to.

And my car is too new to have the CEL disabled, it wasn't compatible with the autologic tool like your '10 was. It kinda looks like the Akrapovic Delete-R may be the only option.

I'm going to try this little do-dad out and see if it helps at all. NM said most of their VW customers use one of these and it works for them.

Any updates on this? I am interested in getting the Delete-R. Just want to be sure it doesn't suppress all CELs, and only prevents the CEL from coming on for the P0420 code.

Also, jkapinos, what car do you have? You said it is a 2013. Is it a JCW or an "S"?

I have an UltraGauge, but it won't read the codes on my car (an R60 built on 4/2012). I wonder if the changes to post-February 2012 ECUs may be affecting the UltraGauge's ability to read codes? If so, I fear it might affect the ScanGauge as well. That's why I'm interested in knowing what year/model you have.

Hi,
so did you try the 42-draft spacer? Is it working good?

please report how the R-delete work for you up to now?

I have a stupid question I don't want to make a new thread for and is somewhat related. The akroprovic delete r module and the 400 price tag. I was looking at the akrpprovic exhaust and the benefits of a cat'ed DP. It seems to throw a code and no one wants to see that on a newer mini especially.

I was reading some testimonials of a CEL never coming on related to the O2 sensors and some people saying it came on several times even with the delete r module. Does that mean the delete r module isn't blocking the code sometimes or just lets it through whenever?

Why not buy a 20-40 dollar OBD2 cable and clear it yourself with a smart phone vs a 400 module that only clears one thing?

I actually never got around to trying it out. I've just been living with the CEL.
