Forge Intercooler on a 2011 MCS
I am planing (now hoping) to install a Forge Intercooler tomorrow, but I now read several posts stating that it won't fit on a 2011.
I see that some have it on their 2011, so I'm wondering what might need altering? I read the tab at the top won't connect to the crash bumper - should I cover it (w/ tape, foam, whatever) and tuck it behind the crash bumper?

Exactly what Way said. The Forge FMIC fits perfectly. You don't need to attach the top tab to anything. And your current lower grille fits perfectly even with the brake ducts.
Forge sends a modified grille for use with the intercooler so I just sold it on eBay, got $40 out of it!
I installed mine myself, it took about 2.5hr but that was the first time I took the front bumper off. I could probably do it in 1.5hr if I had to do it again. I did find the brake ducts to be kind of a pain to remove and re-install but I figured it out on my own.

I don't know how '11's are compared to '10 models, but there was no way I could just ignore the top tab or even tuck it, the crash bumper is just different that other years.
It had to be cut off, no way around it. Once off, install was smooth as butter.

In 2011+ you're supposed to put the tab behind the crash bumper whereas before it went in front of the crash bumper.
I might have the in front/behind location mixed up, but point being they changed that one aspect in 2011 and it does matter for fitment of the IC. Just read your instructions for the right placement.
If you install it correctly on the 2011+ you won't have to modify anything.

Install was a breeze. The top tab sits about 1/4" behind the crash bumper. As others stated, it's not necessary - that thing is secure.
I now know that new boost tubes and IC's are a must. The car is so much smoother.

I actually only replaced the hot side and immediately drove it. Even at idle I felt the difference. Then adding the IC was a complete change.
Even just placing the two tubes side by side justified this purchase.
