Man, I love that picture! Z you accidentally solved my "ditch runflats and go with what?" issue.

>>does anyone have pictures of Rota rims on a mini cooper?

Tia -- I recently put on 16" polished Rota Slipstreams on my "S":

Yes -- that's snow in the background. The rubber is 205/50R16 Falken Ziex ZE512 which I chose as an all-weather road warrior compromise.

The Rota/Ziex combo shaved nearly 20 lbs off the un-sprung weight on each corner; before the change, the shoes were Goodyear Run-Flats on 17" S-Lite rims.

The same wheels can be seen on Rspeed's website. Call Peter if you want to arrange a similar deal to what I got.

Hope that helped -- Tom

Another polished Slipstream setup here, 16" by 7" with 215/45-16 Azenis. Street and STX setup, working quite nicely.

I'm looking at Rota Circuit 8's or Circuit 10's. Does anyone have a pic of these in gunmetal with or without the polished rims? I want to see if it would match my dark silver/dark silver mcs.

Thanks!

my bro got the circuit 8 wheels too... and in the philippines too. We've seen em on ebay... but WAY more expensive than what you'd pay for in the philippines. And all rotas look like other wheels because they're knock-offs.

btw Z.. i like the powdercoat look

Hey Z,
What's your opinion on the difference in ride with the 15's and Yoko's vs the larger wheels and runflats I assume were on your car before?? BTW that is a great look!...........................mgg

Nardo, yeah they're knock-offs but an ISO-9001 makes them worthy in the quality department. The powdercoat is nice, but the look is played the f*** out IMHO. Every Honda with clipped springs is running around on powdercoated Rotas. I was actually looking for other 15s when I saw these in polished on ebay and knew I had to have them.

c, sorry, I'm not that well-versed in PS. My buddies mocked that pic up b/c they like seeing me spend money on my car

gomez, the ride is infinitely better (much smoother, as I felt it was too rough with stock 17s, runflats and H&Rs), handling is better and IMHO it looks better. 15s (or lightweight wheels and tires with non-runflat rubber) are a win-win situation. In a word, RUNFLATS SUCK DONKEY *****!!!!!

Kinda looks cool with the gunmetal and polished lip especially with a BRG mini. Yes runflats do suck, I'm going to ditch mine soon.

Although I have heard great things about Rota wheels, ISO-9001 certification has nothing to do with how well made a product is. It simply means that the company has documented procedures for all of their manufacturing processes and they have records to prove that they follow those processes. I could start a wheel company and write a procedure that says 1 lb of sand must be poured into the molten aluminum per wheel (which would make very undesirable wheels), and as long as I can prove that we consistently add 1 lb of sand into the molten aluminum per wheel, then ISO will be happy and will award certification. ISO-9001 does not in any way determine how well suited any product is for any specific use. It simply says that the company has consistent procedures in place.

I had Rota Attacks (they only weighed 15.5 lbs in the 17" size) on my WRX and they were great - cheap, light & strong enough to withstand the occasional pothole

yea, a lot of people are going for the gunmetal powdercoating... but primer-painted wheels don't really count . as far as rotas go... if you like em and you're comfortable, then by all means roll on em... i got nothing against that. (i mean, look at my bro... well.. once he gets tires on em).

fueledbymetal, love your sig

And my opinion is 15" is an excellent choice and if people wanna go BIG, they shouldn't go past 16". It's all relative to the size of the car, so it looks just right.
