just finished installing my obx catless dp on my 2011 r56. two words...... 747 lol.

^ agreed. Definitely need a sound clip. I had an OBX catback on my r50 and loved the sound. A bit of drone, yes, but very fun for around town cruising which is what I do 95% of the time.

Did you have a custom shop do from the dp back? how is it running... does it seem like you are going to need a tune?

yea... custom shop. i have obx dp that connects to obx midpipe and then the shop ran 2.5" to the back to dual tips. it runs surprisingly great ( with a cel). im sure a tune will be a good though. i just need to figure out where to get one, not sure who does this for minis in miami fl. and something kinda funny, last night i filled the tank and the computer says 465mls til empty. instead of the usual 380 or 400mls. could the mpgs really have increased? doubt it....

Essentially all catless DP are the same right? They all throw CEL without tune right?

that sounds insane!! too loud for me, but i do like it.

 

The tone would sound much better if you added a resonator...

Volume will be the same, it will just sound cleaner.

I agree with thumper. Add a resonator. It's not you're gonna losing any of the pop and burble, it'll make it sound more pure and less raspy.

 

I have a OBX catless downpipe installed as well, but with alta cat back. Check out the quick video. Sorry not the best clip.

Does anyone have a catless DP with stock S exhaust? I'm interested in knowing what this sounds like.

 

I do, but took out the secondary cat. Sounds meh. Ordered an exhaust cause stock sounds like a ricer.

 

My question is why would you run a stock exhaust with a catless dp? Kind of counter intuitive to me.

 

In my case, 1. Affordability, wasn't in the market for exhaust nor could I afford it. 2. Noise, bought the car from my brother which had a stratosphere straight thru dp back exhaust. Highway drone was annoying and obnoxious.
