Most ridicule quote! JCW exhaust...

I was at the dealer yesterday and asked about JCW pricing for a 2010 Cooper S. Was quote $861 which is fine, I get a 25% off on top of that. So about $645. However I was told I needed to get the exhaust tips as well for a whopping $260!!!! 40% of the cost of the exhaust for tips!! Are you kidding???

The standard tip are just fine.

I think they want you to purchase the Chrome accessory tips. Unless you can't live without the "BLING" just get the exhaust with the standard tips.

The tips are under the bumper cover so you can't seethem anyway.

You can probably buy some nice looking tips elsewhere for much much cheaper. Or find a 3rd party selling the system w/ the tips

Buy the tip separately; honestly, you can probably just save up for them later. What's the rush.

the standard JCW tips

Whats wrong with these. I really like them a lot.

These are the standard JCW tips that are on the Mufflers. They are nice and fat and look great.

those tips are part of the muffler. which leads you to the next logical option. spend the 275 dollars and buy the muffler then have an exahust shop cut you a straight pipe to delte the rez and secondary muffler (if you want more loud). much cheaper option same results

hope this helps

buy the exhaust from mini parts mass....its like 350, not sure what shipping is but it is most likely going to be way cheaper then 650 total!

Call them, they had one a few weeks ago when I called about it. Was only like 347 or something.

Your best bet is to find someone that bought a JCW Stage I kit and doesn’t want the exhaust. I’ve bought two sets from members for 300 bucks and they were brand new, unused.

I assume you were asking about the exhaust from the Stage 1 JCW kit, which has MSRP around that price. You might consider instead the exhaust for the factory JCW, which is much cheaper, has less highway drone, and higher performance (or at least it has larger diameter pipes).

When I bought my JCW (factory) it came with the ugly JCW factory exhaust.

When I did the tune, downpipe and full exhaust, my car was too loud. I must have put on half a dozen different exhaust setups to hear what they sounded like. I tried with straight pipes, big pipes, there was something wrong with all of them.... they were either too loud, too quiet, too droney, too raspy, too, too...

Finally, I kept my 2.5 exhaust from the downpipe and exhaust pipe, left a resonator in it and bought a brand new JCW stage I exhaust off a member for 300 bucks. I installed the Stage I exhaust and it’s PERFECT!

I can’t count the amount of times I’ve had people walk up to me and say, “man, I love the sound of your car, I heard it a block away”...

There’s no droning, it doesn’t sound like a fart can and I have the cool looking tips.

Getting the right exhaust on a car is difficult.

JCW factory sounds the best for sure. I had one and went to an Invidia Q300. It sounded good but, my friend who has it now it sounds so much better on his car then mine did.

I wasn't aware there were 2 options. The stage 1 kit does include the exhaust but also CAI, tune as well and price at around $2K. The price they gave me is the exhaust alone for $861. Would anyone have a part # for the factory JCW exhaust? Thanks

Try finding one for a Straight Cooper (R56). It’s ridiculous.

That is what I thought but someone on this thread said the factory JCW is much cheaper....Not sure what that means.

Sorry Sean, I looked it up, posted it and forgot to hit "submit".

By the time I came back to the computer you had already posted your price.

Mark

PS. He'll like my price better, it's less.
