I was so frustrated doing the install , I've used every 4 letter word in the dictionary several times. I'm not happy about it but I also had to use bolts.
Studs were used to fasten the down pipe to the turbo for several reason. When the nuts are tightened on the studs, the studs do not turn inside the threads of the cast housing of the turbo. This will not damage the softer cast threads and will evenly spread the load. When bolts are tightened, the hardened bolt treads will rub on the cast threads and damage them.

 

Hey guys - I finally got the DP installed today. This was def a pain, it took a few hours, but I am very pleased with the outcome. A few things to note...I used hex cap screws. I used M8 x 1.25 hex cap screws and used 25mm in the lower back and 30mm in the lower front. I would like to hear how other people installed this DP to see if there are any other options. I had to cut the top heat shield O2 sensor portion and widen it so the O2 sensor could be put back in, because the DP doesn't line up with the original position.

Overall, it sounds great with my Alta exhaust, it's loud and has a very deep growl and the backfires give off the signature pops and burbles. My cabin is insanely loud with no resonator, vibrations everywhere....we'll see how long I keep that.
