There are only a few ~$1100 coilover to buy. Megan, H&R, Eibach, BC, Vmaxx

Cross, AST, KWs if you get into spending $2k.

I'd personally choose BC coilovers with replacement Hyperco or Swift springs, and the fact you can rebuild the internals.

ST is made in the same factory as KW by KW. Those are also aroun 1k and a good buy. I went with KW as they are thr only company to have a 7post jig other than major manufacturers. Ride smooth and handle tight! Ive heard good things about bc's but i wanted something that i wouldnt have to rebuild(lifetime warranty).

Pay to play though!

Coilovers over cat-back. A One-ball is a great alternative to a full cat-back.

As far as coilovers go, spend the money once, and spend it wisely. For that i suggest only AST at this point. Hands down the best all around coilover that i have experienced for the MINI, and i have experienced many (KW, H&R, Koni, BC).

+1 for coilovers. The Koni 1150's I installed are one of my favorite mods to date.

Get the coilovers but be careful of what you get. I've seen cheaper ($1000 plus) sets last for about a year before leaking and clattering mercilessly. H&R is a good bet for quality: they use Bilstein-valved shock internals and claim a lifetime warranty on the product. We actually have a warranty claim for a rear shock on a BMW coming in next week, so I'll be able to see how their warranty service is. They are a reputable company, so I'm sure they will deliver. I've been burned before, where a company advertises warranty on a product but makes the claims process so expensive and difficult that it is really only a warranty on paper (BORLA, do you feel your ears burning????).
