just so everyone knows,
The bosch 950's I got came in and idle perfectly. Scaled them and the car started right up like nothing had changed. (except the pulse width is only 1.98 ms!)

These are so small they were actually "cute" only ~ 1.5" long and 1/2" in diameter (for the fellow engineers and other Europeans, 33.6mm o-ring to o-ring (w/o extensions), and 14mm diameter)

Obtained from Bosch Motorsport Distributor "Mech-Tronic" out of NJ, USA.

I'm glad the scaling worked well. Can you adjust the injecting timing? If so, it could be helpful later on. Cam?

thanks odanny boy I was assuming germany as they were made in the sample shop. But as long as they were made by a bosch engineer in-house its all the same to me! (Charleston, SC?)

and stevescar60, yes you can adjust the injector timing!
You can set it up for single zone (same injector timing no matter the RPM)

or you can set it up on a table (change timing with changing rpm)

you can also specify if you want the value to be targeted as the injection pulse ends at that timing or begins at that timing value.

I work in Diesel so I'm not sure the extent to which Gasoline do any modifications in house versus with the actual motorsports division in Germany or the motorsports guys in detroit but I know that the base injector is definitely made in Charleston SC.

still waiting to hook it up. (work the normal 9-5 engineer job and then I come home to a condo that I am building. (interrior wall frames, plumbing and electrical done. Working on floors and walls now). So the mini gets some work, but it is slow going.
Once I get the expansion cable in I will hook up the EGT and wire in the AFR as well.

Wish I lived closer. I have a love hate with remod. At least with a condo, with any luck, there's no Rambo. Keep us posted

So, what's the current status - has you actually installed the Vipec on the Mini?

It's going to be okay sunshine. I'm pretty sure Vipec won't be upset about this post. Did you even read it?

Should you be using it if you have zero idea of what you are doing? NO. Will it blow your motor? NO! Who ever is tuning it can though. Is it better then the Tronic? By far, Tronic is a ECU hack its why you have to install it onto the ECU among other reasons.

On ECU No Lift To Shift (NLTS), boost control, LC(launch Control) with ability to build boost, AFR tracking, Real Time Programing (RTP), datalogging, HUGE MAPS, map switching. I mean its a pretty awesome set up.

The sad part about all this, is that people are excited to see this owe a HUGE thanks to ONE company that can't be said on here...retarded but whatever. With out that company and the owner this would not be anywhere near where its at.

VIPEC>bytetronic

Why can't we say RMW? I wasn't aware that Jan has dealings with Voldemort... Horcruxes must be why my car is doing so well... Huh.
