Have you seen the pics of my I/C outlet horn on my build thread? There was a lot of smoothing out to do on that pice, not exactly sure what all of a gain I got from it (if any) but it cant hurt. Im sure your manifold porter could do the same as I did, but better.

I'll take a look again, depending on when I get my delivery confirmatoin I may just send both down for a complete matching, I'll just have to see, can only really work on the car Sun's & Mon.'s because of work and it's outside so weather is also a factor, I'll see how everything falls in place.

WAIT A MINUTE.... you had an engine failure prior to your Sprintex install?!? That is preposterous, you must have been using bytronics....

And what purpose does a comment like that add to the thread? Just fuels the flames, kind of like trolls do....

That is amongst his list of mods. But still no relation to failure, it was a head problem.

I think of it this way, ALL engines fail at some point! Stock lasts longer but whats the fun in that, stock SUCKS!

Thats why he was ignored. Personally I dont care who wants to voice their opinion, as long as it is relevant. Working togeather gets stuff acomplished, talking trash about something you have no experiance with, just keeps people farther from a solution.

We have sold an even ten systems so far and installed two ourselves , One on a auto trans car and the one for the CARB test program. So far there have been no negative issues to report but will do so if we hear of any .

My intention was to point out that engine failures happen at every stage. Stock to super modded. I am all for sprinted and bytronics. I'm not a fan of the guys coming in this thread bashing you for trying new things that nobody else is doing.

Let em bash, talk is cheap.

Hey Randy, any of the new owners on NAM? Have them added to the Sprintex owners list, or as some may say the future engine failure thread. Ha ha I made a funny.

Those who are trolls know who they are. Several posts appear to argue just for the sake of arguing. Just my observation - my opinion. At least I'm not questioning other's abilities or motive. Take it as you will. I think I will ban myself - mybad.

Got my Sprintex from M7 a couple weeks ago and am installing as we speak.
Presently, I'm knee deep in Cooper bits. S/C is installed.
Will report results shortly after take-off some time next week.

Sweet! Dont forget the brake in period, it takes a few hundred miles for the S/C to seal and give you full boost.

Yes, thanks Dicks, I've been lurking for quite some time on this thread but didn't want to post until I finished the install.
Btw - my air grinder was very busy due to your input. Internals are smooth as a baby's bottom.

No pics of internals but they look very similar to yours. I did the same treatment to my M45 a few years ago when I did my 1st round of upgrades.
I'll post some pics of the install shortly. Might have it back together by tomorrow or the next, fingers crossed.

Initial Impressions

So far so good! I only had time to load the base tune from Mynes so I have some data logging and dialing ahead of me. Just took her for a short test drive and all seems AOK. Idle's good, no pinging and revs nicely. I didn't flog it as I don't have the full tune installed, but according to my air/fuel gauge, all seems AOK.

First thing I noticed is the pronounced pitch of the S/C whine - Much different than the M45. Love the high pitch whistle at high rpm. Sounds baddass! Power delivery doesn't feel earth shattering but I am no where near full boost. Will be dialing & tuning tomorrow and will report back.

Sounds good. What pulley are you using? Here at a mile worth of altitude the 70mm just about maxed out the Manifold pressure scale in FA, and when I switched to the 64mm it was totaly off the grid in the upper RPM's.

I hope Jay took the boost/air mass into concideration when he made your base map, it was a @!#*# to try to figgure out on my own.

I went with the 64mm pulley too, may even try the 60mm down the road. I'm in the SF bay area so heat & altitude aren't really an issue, just lots of hp friendly fog.
I gave them all specs on motor and they made it very clear not to drive the car until we can data log & fine tune it.

1st real stress test will be 9/25 @ Sears Point/Infinion Raceway

The last post just answered a question for me, didn't know if I should do the initial breakin with the 70mm and then change over or go right for the 64mm.

64mm it is, saves time in the tuning also.
