Anyhow back to the TOPIC of this thread...

Mark, did you get your little hickup solved? Any news on getting your car on the dyno?

Dave, if you have any off topic type of questions you can always use my regular email to cut down on the off topic adventures like we just had.

Wandrur, thanks for trying to save the thread, but they are just going to start on something else in a week or two. Are you ever going to get out to any MINI5280 events or meetings?

If you would like to debate technical aspects, you may do so all day long, as long as you are debating technical fact. However personal attacks, antagonizing, trolling and baiting are not permitted, and will not be tolerated.

If you have a differing view point, then explain it, and share resources for other people to learn, succumbing to personal attacks does not further your goal, and will cause more trouble for you; and does absolutely nothing to educate anyone else reading this thread, or get you any closer to changing the mind of those that have expressed other opinions. If you want to debate, then all we ask is that you do so in an appropriate manner, there is no reason that everyone on this site cannot be civil with each other.

If you have a question comment or concern about the moderation, the moderators and myself all have open PM boxes, but lets allow this thread to get back on topic.

How many people are currently running the Sprintex? For those that are running it, what tuning solution have you used. Anyone gone for a standalone ECU or are you all Mynes tuned?

Mine was self tuned. Ya I messed it up and am paying the conciquences, just goes to show that paying attention to all the logs is important, and that there is always more to learn.

Acording to BoosTec (The main North American distributer) there are north of 100 MINI Sprintex kits out there right now. They have also pushed out quite a few Jeep kits (Hmm I have a 97 XJ).

Anybody else hear that both kits where in the top 10 for Best New International Product this year at SEMA.

Maybe 20-30 are installed of the 100 "out there". The other 70 are sitting on vendors, distributor shelves, or the remainder(70) doesn't exist and it's built to order. But that's besides the point of the thread.

To answer,

The Sprintex kit did not re-invent the wheel. It just needs to have a proper EMS and fueling mods IF you're using anything smaller than the provided 70mm pulley OR if you have extensive mods(BVH, cam, 64mm/60mm pulley, etc.) So IF you just buy the system and bolt it on with just i/h/e you should be fine, if your car is slightly lean, then swapping JCW 380s would fix that without tuning needed. Although tuning should be done to maximize your parts.

This post has so much wrong in it, I don't know where to start.

STFU? Show some respect buddy.

Secondly, I support no-one. I am not arguing for or against a particular vendor or type of supercharger. I'm reading your posts and laughing, that's it.

Then you say you netted only a couple hp from 100% meth on your setup, which you admitted you stuffed up. Perhaps that isn't anything to do with the meth an more to do with your setup.

Its funny how all of the supporters of a certian "buisness" feel the need to jump in and start an OFF TOPIC arguement the second somebody mentions something that isnt their way of doing things.

Yes I use W/M for COOLING that is what the systems where designed for, and they are good at it. I could care less if i could change my tune to run 100% alcohol and gain a couple HP with the risk of failure when the tank runs out. And YES it is ONLY A COUPLE HP, atleast that's all I got out of my setup. Last I looked cooling the internals of the engine was verry important to overall performance, is it not? From what you people have said about this S/C, you shuld be extatic that I am telling people to use W/M as a cooling aid, and not add to the list of possible failures.

Now lets get back to this threads TOPIC, a discussion about the SPRINTEX S/C. If you are here to make arguements out of what other people do because they arent YOUR way, STFU and go troll somewhere else.

Seeing as neither side is interested in making this thread work, and I'm interested in doing more than sitting here and issuing infractions all night this thread is done.

I will leave the group with this thought though, that is something worth considering before devolving into personal battles.
Often it is best not to immediately reply to an antagonistic or escalating post. Write your reply, but wait a day before posting it. You may find that your perspective has changed and/or the thread has self-moderated.
