Drivetrain BOV Blew Off!!
BOV Blew Off!!
My second run autocrossing and my bov blew out of the pipe. I heard it pop out so I doubt a loose clamp is the problem. Do I need to tighten or loosen the internal spring or just adjust the external part. It's an Alta bov.
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ha ha ha ha
I'd sell it if I were you, but there isn't much market for them on eBay. You'd probably have great success getting rid of it on the NAM marketplace. I'd block off the pipe and upgrade from the stock diverter valve.

Isn't the blow off valve supposed to blow off?
Alta does make a heavier spring for the stock recirc valve.

I asked an Alta tech. If it did any good on MINIs with automatic transmissions, he said, No it didn't. The automatics shift fast enough that the boost pressure doesn't drop significantly during a shift.
