The MCS 07 does not have pop noise and I was wondering if Akrapovic DP will give it that sound?
The newer models do this by spraying extra fuel to produce the popping feature, so you won't get that exact sound without software that does the same. Based on what I've seen on YouTube, you should get some added burble from one though.

Noob question, I have a CMS 2012 which I have a tune installed and a K&N filter, I plan to install this week an intercooler and I am just placing the Akra DP the gaskets, etc...on my shopping cart with WMW. The problem that I have is related that my CMS is an Auto, and I do not know if the addition of the sw, filter, intercooler and dp will make it too torquey for the transmission, can someone with more experience shed some light on it? Thanks.

The Aisin F21 6 speed automatic transmission is designed to handle a maximum of 324.5 ft-lbs of torque. A Countyman N18 engine makes a maximum 177 ft-lbs of torque. With your mods and with no custom tune, you will not come anywhere near your transmission's limits.

I mean not an factory tune. Even a canned tune is a custom tune, it just doesn't take advantage of your exact set of mods, like a tune done on a dynamometer by a good tuner can.

Dave, I have one of those canned tunes, can't say from who it is as I am in Brazil and the person just told me it was his, I think it is a RMW, Renntech, or something in between. He said that I was going to get 20% more hp and torque (which is reasonable), do you think that I might overthrow the capacity of the Aisin with the intercooler and Akra DP, I am not even going to change the second cat and resonator. I am bound to the US next week and I can get it from Way, along with the gasket, and the Akra delete, just in case.

20% more torque is 212.4 ft-lbs, that is nowhere near the transmission's design maximum of 324.5 ft-lbs. I wouldn't worry about breaking your transmission, though it will probably wear out faster, but that would be true with any performance mod, that pushes the design limits of any transmission.

Thanks Dave, I feel more compelled to go ahead and order my little mods.

Cheers,

Good info, Dave. May I ask where you got the 324.5 ft-lbs. figure? That's a genuine question, not argumentative.

Also, I thought the N18 makes 192 ft-lbs. of torque? Of course, that is at the crank, so I guess your point is 177 ft-lbs. at the transmission?

I have a 2012 Countryman "S." I currently have an Akrapovic DP, a VIP 2.5" exhaust, and will soon have a TyrolSport intercooler and RennTech tune. Even with all that, I doubt I would see more than 250 ft.-lbs. at the wheels, so the transmission should still be well within its limits.

I got the information from Wikipedia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AWTF-80_SC

Our automatic transmissions are Aisin F21 (AF21) also called Aisin Warner F21 (AWF21)

These are listed in the "Also called" list in the article.

There is also a bar chart at the Aisin site.

http://www.aisin-aw.co.jp/en/product...eup/index.html

Showing the TF80 series automatic transmission with a torque capacity of 440 NM (324.5 ft-lbs)

The 177 ft-lbs, I got off of the miniusa.com website. That could be at the wheels, it didn't say.
