Just in stalled the AK downpipe on my 09 clubman and let me tell you it is the most well made piece of equipment that is on my car thus far. AS for gains i installed the jcw turbo at the same time so im not sure but all i ca tell you that in conjunction with eachother and a tune HOLY S***. I am finally happy with the power my mini puts out. I will tell you that on a stock tune I got a CEL immediately for cat sensor after dp or atleast thats what i understand it as). DO yourself a favor and do it right the first time and spend the money on replacing all gaskets and v band clamps. I even replaced exhaust manifold gasket while it was all apart. And you also have to remember as far as price goes that it has a heat coating on it already which usually runs about 150-200 alone-Thats what i was told by WAY and WMW. Stop contemplating and buy it youll love it.

Can I run a accessport stage 2 map with this downpipe and a 2.5 way motor works cat back? or any other 2.5 catback?

has this dp given anyone problems when it comes time for smog checks? (assuming you have a tune to get rid of the CEL)

I have not had to go through SMOG yet and certainly hope that it passes without incident. If they do the sniffer, I would assume that it would pass if it's in good running order.

that damned smog check will definitely be my deciding factor! If anyone's ever had to go through it, please let me know!

I have an Akrapovic DP with a JCW mid pipe (all silencers were cut out) and a JCW back box... It makes the PERFECT sound... I dyno tested the car before and after with no power gains from any of the exhaust components, just so you know.

P.S. I also have a tune on my car from PAW in Miami... And no CEL's on the DP because I spaced out the bottom 02 sensor with an 18mm *diameter* spark plug spacer and it works perfectly... When I had my tune done there was no way to code out CEL's)

So you're saying that the original mini exhaust is pretty well designed to begin with and moving up to a dp and catback would only net you a different sound?

you will get some performance gains, not just sound. The turbo will spool up quicker also. I have been at many tune days and have seen cars make about 10hp and 15tq over cars without a DP.

sweet! I'm not really looking for more power, but if there's some to be had, i'm wouldn't complain! Now my main concern'll be whether or not it can pass smog!

I can't speak about smog inspection but I do pass NY inspection. I think they just hook up to OBD2 and check for codes. I have a tune and those codes are disabled.

So I understand you correctly, you removed the resonator and are using the factory JCW muffler?

Right... Not sure about the R56's but on the Countrymans there are two silencers right after the flex joint in the exhaust which is right after the DP... I cut those out and welded a straight pipe onto the pipe with the flex joint (it was less than a foot long), and then attached the JCW midpipe to the back of that, and then the JCW Backbox.

Delete-R MINI P-DEL3

MINI P-DEL3

Delete-R

The Akrapovič Delete-R has been developed for use of Akrapovič exhaust system in combination with standard ECU settings and will eliminate possible engine check error codes caused by the improved emission flow.

Eliminates "possible" check engine codes..... So they are not sure if it will work all the time? I do want a dp but I'm trying have the least amount of headaches with it installed. Emissions/inspections here in ny are annoying.

I think they're saying there's a possibility you'll get codes and this will eliminate that problem.

Interesting.

This might be a good option for those looking for a tune from RMW or NM Eng. seeing as they can't/won't remove the CEL for downpipes.

Anyone found these for sale yet, and a price?

I didn't see a price for the Delete-R.

I wonder if it would work on a catless down pipe.

I got my DP today from WAYMOTORWORKS

called them on Tue and got it today Thus $709 shipped to FL

I read most post about this DP and all i have to say is that I had the Milltek DP on my 2009 JCW and is not in the same ballpark regarding quality.

Only thing is didnt came with a sticker LOL, Very Happy with it and the promp service from Way.

When you say it's not in the same grade quality wise as the Miltek DP, what exactly do you mean? Also, which on performs better and have you gotten a CEL yet?

Hey guys, maybe a newbie-type question. If this Akra DP will eventually blow a CEL then what is the point of even getting a DP with any cat at all? Wouldn't we be better off with a catless DP if we plan to get a tune anyway? I'd appreciate any informed responses. I was looking to pick up an Akra but I'm not 100% sold on it yet.

I believe the primary reason is to physically have a cat there.

Stage 2/3 DP options

So I noticed that the question still stands. Any ideas? I am done waiting to get a DP. I just want one that will allow me to run a stage 2/3 map safely. If my only option is to find a 3 inch alta somewhere or get a catless then so be it.
