I might talk with PEAK EUROSPORT here in Denver about becoming a distributer, when I got my alignment done they asked what company's where good so they could expand into more of the MINI market. With the growing popularity of MODED MINI's here it might be good for them, and others.

This is just an observation/analysis. I am not trying to add fuel to the fire.

I read through Jan's post about the numbers comparison. Yes, I do agree the engine should have been tested at temperature.

From my research, it appears that roots blowers tend to lose boost at higher RPMs based on a given PSI. This article might help shed some light: http://www.gadgetonline.com/Super.htm. It may not necessarily be an issue with the Sprintex unit itself. Other factors are involved that affect "reverse boost," such as overall porting of the head and intake for proper/optimized flow. This article, as well as other locations on the Internet, do mention that a roots blower begins to lose efficiency when dealing with levels above ~13 PSI. This probably includes the Eaton M45 we have that is stock. I know my boost gauge never pans off when I pull at the way to 7,000 RPM. However, my current datalog software does not currently afford me the privilege of logging boost numbers, so I cannot effectively say otherwise.

I think Jan's point was to indicate that a centrifugal supercharger is the way to go, because they are designed to handle higher PSI numbers. In his view, if you are going to invest that much money in an blower upgrade, why not go this route anyway.

Thoughts or comments? I'm here to hash it out like the rest of you.

The way I've been looking at it is, what do you buy next ?

Cylinder head or Sprintex Supercharger kit

Thats why we're using a stock head with cam / header / cat back / JCW CAI / GP IC

I dont know what Jan's mechanic Danny charges for Installing a head but you're looking at 2550 for a RMW head plus $200 for gaskets / head studs so really there's only another 350 for the Sprintex Kit...........but which one provides the best HP / TRQ to $ ratio

I just picked my $3000 hat up from Boostec! Good news is that it came with a free Sprintex.

Me and the guys in the shop had a long and interesting chat, and a lot of usefull info and even some dirt was exchanged. Rick talked about the shortcomings with the prototypes, and how they where resolved. Such as the original drive gears where set to an incorrect tollerance, that was causing most of the heating isues, how the original plumbing was built, and how Sprintex got themselves involved in the production process. There was also lots of BSing and such, most of which I dont feel shuld be part of the forum.

I also stoped in at Peak Eurosport (Denver ish area) and they are as of now on board to carry out installs, and be a distributer of the kit. Good news to us for having the independant shops step up and get on board.

I am hoping to do the install next weekend, so keep your eyes peeled for a DIY thread, but please keep your comments on it to a minimum (unless they are legitamate on topic questions)

Jan, Ahh I see what you mean, so 2150 if you have got a good core, but then again it could be costly depending where you are in the world to ship a head back to you.

So in thoery there is $700 between a cylinder head and a Sprintex.................but what if you have a stock manifold? thats another $950 so now you're at $3100

Thoughts or comments? I'm here to hash it out like the rest of you.

I think Jans point is to undermine anything that HE doesnt sell. That has been pretty darn clear for the last 3yrs on all the forums.

Sure, the Rotrex may be better in SOME regards, but if you are wanting to talk about pricing....how much does it take to get a Rotrex kit put onto your car ? The cost of a Rotrex kit is one thing i have not seen posted a single time.

Here is an idea Jan, instead of mouthing to everyone and their mother on internet forums, why not update your website past the point middle schoolers achieve now-a-days.

d1cks-garage....is dislike you, but only b/c i want to play around with the Sprintex....

The car is very fast, even with 120k on the block it still hauls *** but more power would be even awesome which im sure I would have to get my block done in order to play it safe with these miles. Im aslo sure with all this power a gintani water to air would come in handy very well which I have coming soon too. Also, based on pricing this is the way to go vs the rotrex. That thing is stupid expensive.

That offer really stands to anyone, my seats wont hold an @$$ bigger than a 36", so sorry if you dont fit.

Wow, what a train wreck of a thread. And I thought my posts were questionable. That "interview" for the Rotrex must be a killer!

Can't wait to see how the Sprintex goes.
