Need some help identifying parts.

Purchased this MINI alittle over two years ago, and now am looking to sell. I was told the car made alittle over 240hp when I purchased it and I believe it when comparing to other JCW cars.

If anyone is familiar with parts could you possible identify some stuff for me. Any and all help would be much appreciated.

The car was originally built in Colorado if it means anything to anyone. Maybe someone reconizes it.

The intercooler setup is a laminova water to air intercooler which is a very nice setup. Other that that it looks like any other MINI.

Well looks like you have a ProMini CAI. A air-water intercooler using maybe a laminova core ? Havent seen that exact one before, but looks very much like some of RMW first ones (i think). And then maybe a Halltech ECU or something ontop of the fuse box ?

Is the car a cabrio ? If not, those black bars going from the front frame-rail to the strut tower are "cabrio braces" and is considered an upgraded for coupes.

Wow, you guys are good!! The car is a cabrio, and the box on top of the fuse box is what looks like some sort of ignition booster for the coil. I believe its made by MINI Mania or something along the lines.

The Air to water intercooler uses what looks like a BMW core if that helps anyone.

The supercharger also seems to have some sort of underdriven pulley on it, although I don't know what size nor brand as its unmarked. It is red if that helps to identify it.

I'll snap some more pics tomorrow.

Good info guys! Keep it coming.

I'm a subaru guy and have been for years, this is all new to me.

My daily driver.

Red pulley probably means Craven Speed. How many bolts are holding it on? If it is 3 then that is the case. Is your crank pulley also a color (other than black) by any chance? The only way you are going to be making 240 horsepower is if there was head swap done. Did the seller give you any documentation of that? Any pictures of the exhaust or header?

The exhaust is definetly a JCW piece. I do have paper work stating a built head. But it began life as a JCW piece but seemed to recieve bigger valves and a larger port and polish job.

When comparing the power to this car to the other JCW's that I've driven this one is definetly a little more powerful.

I know Helix sold 6 bolt pulley, but I dont think they were ever anodized red. All pulley are more or less the same so the brand doesnt really matter. I am not seeing any other particularly obvious upgrades. I would look at your front control arms and see if the bushings supporting the back of them are either purple or blue, as that would indicate an upgrade to polyurethane.

I'm really not neccesarily looking to find brand names of every part, I just want some sort of evidence aside from putting the car on the dyno that it could possibly be putting down what it is said to put down.

I have a dyno date scheduled for the beginning of next week. I'm hoping for good numbers!

You've had the car for two years and you don't know any of the parts you have on your car?! I find that very odd.

I purchased the car used from a dealership like this. To be honest, I never really cared what had been done to the car. It still is serviced by my local BMW dealership that it was purchased from and still retains the factory warranty.

Now that its time to sell the car, I would like to give the future buyers an idea on whats been done to it.

I know what your saying. I hope you didn't take offense to that. Its just seeing what your DD is and everything it looks like youre a car guy and would want to know at the beginning of ownership what the parts are. Either way both your cars are sick.

No offense taken..

Again, I could care less what type of parts were added to the car. I just want to know that when selling the car, I can assure interested buyers that it is what I was sold.

Again, I'm just interested in helping future parties.

As far as why its taken so long, to be honest, I've never really had the interest in doing so. Its the wife's car and I occasionally drive it. Its certainly faster then the factory JCW cars we've test driven. And its a completely new animal when compared to the newer JCW's.

The supercharger pulley you have pictured is a mini madness pulley. What size?? you'd have to measure it, they are all really close in size.

Wow, thats a big help as they also seem to produce the header thats on the car!!

So theres been quite a bit of work done to the car. Would you assume that this car could possibly put down down its stated 240hp?

Glad that helped.

As for your 240hp, it's not likely. You would have to have a dyno that is really generous. So don't get your hopes up before going to the dyno. I know one of our local dynos is named "the heartbreaker".

Well I guess we'll find out this upcoming Tuesday! I'm actually kind of excited, even if it is the wifes car.

For reference my Legacy recently was protuned to 365whp with a BNR hta68, and this Mini is every bit as fast as my car throughout the lower gears.
