Hi, I don't have a dyno sheet to share, but instead I'm looking for an idea as to what you guys think my car might be making.

Here's what I've done:
Alta 15% pulley
Alta/Helix CAI
RMW 246 cam
Megan catless racing header with resonator
NGK Iridium plugs
MSD wires
Stock tune for now
Recent top-end rebuild, valve job by hand

My current plan for next steps are MSD coil, then 450 injectors, Invidia cat-back, then to Jan for a tune!

If anyone has this same setup or something very similar, I'd love to hear from you what yours is making and what I should do next!
Kind of late to this but I figured I'd respond in case someone else happened to read it. Your plugs, wires, and coil will do nothing for HP. A CAI won't do much either. 15% pulley + cam/header will probably get you 25-35whp, so I'd guess 170-180whp on a stock tune. You'll get quite a bit more with a tune, though. You'll also need 380cc+ injectors at that level.

Estimates are just those... estimates. You won't really know unless you go to a dyno. And once you select a dyno, stick with that kind. Don't compare one dyno type result to another.

yes it is. It will make more power but the sequential box won't handle it

what you see there with fluids is 1750 lbs
This shell is a little heavier than what I expect production models to be but we should be right there. I can tell you it's frightening to say the least
I hope to have some video up by end of spring, I have a couple cars that have been here for custom stuff for quite some time as things kept changing on them so I want to get their cars back before I take mine to the track. It's the right thing to do. It will be detuned while I catch up to the power to weight of the car.

1st gear is 68mph!

R53 short block
50 thousandths over 9.3/1
ENDYN big valve ported head with stock cam advanced 10 degrees
Sneedspeed big plenum ported intake manifold
TVS 900 with 65mm pulley making 102kpa boost (14.7 psi)
RMW long tube race header and custom exhaust with race muffler (98 dbA at 50 ft) that's F'ing loud
spinning 15x10 6uls with 245/40/15 A7s (going from 15x9 with 245/45/15 R7s cost 10+ HP)

These ain't no dyno queen numbers, these are keep doing pulls till the HP won't drop anymore race certification numbers.

MINI is still over 10 HP short for GTS2, so after Hallett race weekend June 7,8,9 the 60mm pulley is going on. That should get it where it needs to be.

That may be the flattest torque curve I've ever seen... and my day job is at an engine testing lab for a company that makes big yellow machines.

Thanks, The car is built to race in a HP/weight class so you want to build a motor with the maximum torque to HP ratio. I think it helps that the VE of the head and SC are well matched - boost builds quickly, is nearly max by 5000 and stays flat out to 7000.

It struck me as well as how flat the torque curve is, and that results in the linear slope of the HP curve. Very impressive and no doubt the best R53 engine dyno chart I've ever seen. It is like the old saying goes, it is the area under the curve that matters.

What did the car make stock on the M45 with 15% pulley on this dyno? This Dynojet appears to be a true heartbreaker... :(

Like your Mustang...

The dashed line is before tuning, with 27 psi.
The solid line is after tuning with only 22 psi.

Didn't do one on this dyno, but same type of dyno with same SAE smoothing factor 5 I think it was 191 with 15x7 wheels and SM7s.

Notice that it is pulls 9, 10, & 11. Only fan at front of car / No misting IC. To simulate the HP the car would have during a race, or compliance dyno after a race. The car makes 10 to 20 more HP when just warming up on pulls 1,2,3. I am going to put protections in the tune to make sure car reaches normal operating temperature before WOT running is allowed.

And the 15x10 wheels with 245/40 A7s take a bit extra HP to spin.

What does dyno shut down mean? It runs to 7500.

and this is flywheel power? What correction factor was used?

Shut down was at 6500 rpm.. it is WHP . 305 WHP @ 6300 rpm / 279.6 Tq @ 5250 rpm. There were issues and there is another tune scheduled.

2006 factory JCW with many mods: 232 WHP / 191 WTQ

Engine-related mod list
- RMW Stage 2 Head
- RMW Dominator Cam
- RMW Shorty Header
- RMW 450cc Injectors
- JCW stock airbox, exhaust, pulley
- RMW tune

Note During the dyno runs, Jan indicated he can usually get close to 250 WHP with these type of mods. He suspected my MAP(?) sensor might be slightly out-of-whack or supercharger might be getting a little tired after 70k miles, as boost was a little lower than expected at higher RPMs.

...after the above, I decided to drop way too much money on a TVS900 and E85 flex fuel conversion a month later.
Updated 2006 factory JCW with many more mods: 307 WHP / 239 WTQ (on E85; probably makes about 20% less on standard 91 octane pump gas)

Engine-related mod list
- RMW Stage 2 Head
- RMW Dominator Cam
- RMW Shorty Header
- JCW stock airbox, exhaust
- Harrop TVS900 supercharger kit (60mm pulley if I remember right)
- New stock intercooler w/heat dispersant coating
- Bosch 1000cc injectors
- E85 flex fuel conversion (running E85 during dyno test)
- Link G4+ ECU
- RMW tune

Since I'm still running stock internals (pistons/rods/crank), Jan tuned it a little on the conservative side (as apparently that becomes the weak link when getting above 325+ hp). Needless to say it pulls much harder now...
