Bragging Rights- What cars have you beat or lost to?

I thought it would be fun to open a thread about the races your MINI has won or lost. Please only post races on race tracks or drag strips. No discussion of illegal street racing will be permitted by NAM
My modded R56-

2008 A4 with Exhaust- Win- From 0 to 60mph. One car length, at best.

Nissan 350 z - Lose- (stock from what I could tell) - 50 to 90+MPH - He won by a good car length. I have done some mods since then though.

1st Gen Mini M7'ed out-Win- No contest. Smoked him.

My dad in a Yukon- Win-Close call because he drives like a nut.

Hope you all have some fun with this thread. Make sure to post what is done to your car. Looking forward to hearing back.

On a friends private race track , I have run a 2nd gen MCS and kicked her butt lol ( from a rolling start of 10 MPH to end of 2nd gear) In the bends nothing has come close.

*Disclaimer*
I do not condone street racing.

On a local racetrack:

Did a few pulls from around 50mph until 100mph against a cobb tuned stage2 2005 sti, lost by 2 car lengths or so...

Still took at as a win in my mind though since before i did my RMW tune and downpipe it wasn't even close...
But i won't even attempt to go from a stop, AWD kills in that respect

I like how you say "only legal track races" no street racing... and then your first "race" is from a red light...... nice

Don't all drag strips have red lights?

On the track, the Mini is mid pack at the best. It does do better in the rain.

Just take your mini to a NASA TT or Time Attack and compare the time slips against other cars in the same class. Done

I was actually at the local 1/8th mile track this weekend. Ran for fun, best pass was 9.7 @ 73.

Mini is stock except for suspension.

I know it should be able to run closer to 9.4 stock but drag racing really isn't my thing.

SCCA has time trials as well.

In the Northeast, COMSCC also runs them.

At a drag strip, when my Mini was still stock, I raced my friend who has a 2006 mustang (not GT) with only a cat back exhaust and I pulled at least 3 or 4 car lengths from him. I went against him 2 other times with the same result. My 1/4 mile times were 14.9, 15, and 14.7

*The below was all done on a track*

You'd actually be surprised at the cars you can pull away from...or keep up with at the very least....

Our torque is delicious ...especially on a tuned R56.

Some that come to mind:
-stock STi's/EVO's are no problem...not necessarily destroying them, but stay even at least
-S2000's are very fun to beat
-335i w/exhaust only...even, he couldn't pull on me
-Audi S4 (B7), w full exhaust+software...definitely beat (was my brother in laws car...he immediately got out after and with a sad face said "I should have bought an RS4")

While there are a lot of faster cars than us out there...a modded R56 can hang with the best of them

Hmm...

2005+ Corvette
Integras
Civics (some turbo'd)
RSX-S modded
2002-2005 Civic SI -modded
2006+ Civic SI -modded
Evo X ( Started from 10mph) -looked stock
new Camaro SS (Red lighted on me but was catching up to him towards end of track ) -stock
Dodge Ram Rumble Bee
RX-3 - completely stripped
350z (when I was stock) -stock [but always clocked in at higher speeds at the track]

This was when I had my unichip but now I have the RMW tune which feels quicker and I haven't been to the track since.
I have always wanted to see what the r56 can do against an srt-4 but I never see any at the track. Also, I DO NOT have LSD so traction was a huge problem at the track.

Theres lots more on the list but those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. I race anything at the track . I have only lost to a modded soltice 2.0t and my brother.

Yea...they can be crazy fast.

I remember racing one (think it had a bigger turbo kit) on the track in my modded R53...from 70 and up...and it was like i was standing still
