I think you're supposed to ask that question before you buy

Good news is that the Magnaflow seems to be a very well-built, if somewhat loud, system.

I really really like mine, a good note, and a great rasp.
My only complaint would be the look of the tips, but there are plenty of people that think the tips look cool, not me, but I love the sounds and volume of the magnaflow.
I wouldnt change my exhaust for another.

I've heard of a story where a Cop pulled someone with a magnaflow over once, he claimed it sounded like a "tank" going passed him.

MINI + Gas turbine engine = FUN (and Death, but fun Death!! The good kind.)

I have mine and love the sound... I used to had borla race, but i like the magnaflow sound.

The only doubt i have with it is the design... i was wondering to make a change in the design instead of having a "T" when the tubes split make it a "Y" like most of the other brands. Has anyone tried this?

heres is the link to the picture

Yeah but, I did a CAI and 15% at the same time.
So it was probably more from the pulley.

Well If you really get twenty you will easily feel it in a light car like a MINI cooper.

Jirsty, or anyone else know what the most LIVABLE sounding exhausts are? I've heard that the Borla is the quietest, is that true? I'm looking to do the upgrade route, but I don't want really loud. My car is a daily driver, and I take it on long trips sometimes, so too loud would make me crazy.
But then again, would quieter also mean less HP gains?

I'm not really sure what would be the most tame sounding exhaust, but I have heard the Borla makes the loudest exhaust you can get, I'm not sure, but i do know the Borlas have a really deep tone.
Most exhausts (even my magnaflow) aren't really thaat loud at low RPMs, so it doesnt bother me for a trip, as long as I am under 3k its not enough to really bother me, the road noise from my tires and whatnot bothers me a lot more than the exhaust on a freeway.
but there are for sure quiter exhausts, and I am fairly certain you can get the same HP gains out of them.

One thing you can do is go to youtube and type in mini cooper exhaust (insert brand name here)
Search through and hear a couple exhausts you might be interested in and see which one seems the quitest, and you can leave the person who posted the video about if theirs is too loud, etc.

I hope that helps!

Jirsty,
I checked out the videos on youtube...very helpful. It seems that there are a lot of Milltek exhausts on there...I didn't find any other. I'll look more, but the Milltek sounded great....but maybe a little loud for me.

Yeah, I am also a pretty big fan of milltek, I really think they sound great with a complete exhaust system, instead of just cat-back.
