Exhaust depot turbo back issues

I posted this in 1st gen on accident but I will repost here with more details and hopefully more help. So i have a 2010 S with 7K on it so far. Bolted up the ED catted DP and 3' Catback. Took for a test drive and sounded great... didnt feel too much power didnt think much of it. next day I go out again (20 miles on it so far) and tried to unleash to see how it performs. gets to about 4k rpm and then CREEEEPS to redline, does it in 1st,and 2nd. Remembering that one DP bolt was tightened before the rest I assumed a leak and loosened DP and re tightened evenly. Problem still existed, so I'm driving to where I installed it for insight and punched it in 3rd just to see ... ALL power that wasnt there before was back. completely different power band than before. CEL is still on but car runs great. dont remember code number but its a lean code. Should I just erase CEL and drive for a little to see if all is clear or what? thanks.

A lean code will trim power. Post up the code if you can!

The power is fully back but thats the code that was triggered. I'm thinking its just O2 now. The OBD wasnt able to erase CEL.. will another brand delete it or do I need to reset ECU? thanks.

Glad you were able to get this moved over and even happier that it looks like you were able to get most of it going right again.

I've got the RR DP and the CEL. For a couple of weeks, I was able to clear the CEL and codes with my code scanner. Took it into the dealer to get the windows reprogrammed and now, I can't clear the CEL or codes. If you are able to clear the codes, I'd like to know which device you end up using.

Yeah, because the engine is fine. And I'm sure its just from the DP, '10s seem to have more sensetive ECU's. So if I can be certain its just O2 sensor, I'll keep driving. But if my fuel pump is gradually dying... I want to know.

Unplug the battery for like 30min or an hour and see if that clears it

I got my ECU changed a few weeks ago because of a problem with my old ECU (didnt ask). Possibly a '10 ECU? I do have lower boost and I haven't had a CEL from my DP after about 500+ miles. Hmm it can somehow be related to an install issue ( not doubting you) or something else like a faulty 02 sensor?

cant remember numbers... just a lean code. CEL just turned off by itself while driving/relieved.

yeah definatly related to the DP, it sounds like it was in limp mode, it normally clears itself after a few miles of easy driving. contact hector and see what he will do

now for a vent on ED, they have been selling these CEL-free downpipes and they havent been working in a few cars, you are not getting to much horsepower seeing as they are still catted. I used to swear by hector's work but after they put together some terrible manifolds for some friends i just cant stand behind them anymore. These manifolds were a prototype and they were not even notched in properly. It was a super sad sight and i was very sad that hector had wronged my friends that were trying to bring business to him. sorry for the vent

hector is no longer active on the forums it seems but after their whole move thing i hope you can get in contact with him and get a new DP, it sounds like you got his expensive one and if thats the case dont give up till you get one that has no cel. i hope you get it sorted.

BMW has cursed us with the more sensitive ECU on the '09 and '10. The catted downpipes worked fine on '07 and '08 cars. It isn't Hector's fault.

hector then should not market it as cel-free
