Conflicting research: oil pressure sender 3/8 NPT or M16x1.5?

I'm trying to figure out whether the oil pressure sender port on the block is 3/8 NPT or M16x1.5. I've read conflicting information and want to be sure before I order anything. Thanks.

npt vs met

I guess as a plbg cont for a LONG time I'll stick my 2 cents in. Yes 3/8 npt works------right------no. The metric is correct but is"interchangeable" w /npt. NPT (natl pipe thrd) IS tapered--the "pitch" on the 16mm is REALLY close & vice-versa and a couple other sizes will "exchange" also. The "COOL" thing to do w/ the oil sending unit itself is to mount it remotely as it does NOT like being "abused" (vibration etc) so you come out of the port w/ an adaptor 3/8 npt x 1/4" FLARE then pipe/ tubing to a more "stable" or insulated locale. Mount the sender there (another adapt) then pipe /tube out to the gauge. The sender will now last like forever !! And "IF" it goes bad you can get to it .Two-1/4" flare nuts & two 3/8 x 1/4 fl adapts some tubing & a flaring tool. DON'T use compression as it WILL come apart eventually and thats NOT a good place for that "occuring"

yea I plan on remotely mounting it with -4an stainless line. This is what plan on doing:

Block > 3/8m to 1/8f > 1/8m to -4an m > 3ft -4an hose > -4an m to 1/8f > 1/8m to 1/8m > 1/8f to 3/8m > 3/8 T w/3f > stock pressure sender on one and aftermarket sender on another with 3/8m to 1/8f

Finally got it all hooked up. I extended the stock sender wire and zip tied it to the braided line to prevent it from touching the exhaust manifold. This was the best location I could find for the T and 2 senders. It's wedged in there pretty firmly, I don't think its going anywhere.
