Blow off Valve Question ANY REVIEWS?/ HELP

so i just got a new Helix IC and some boost tubes but, when i went over to my buddies shop, we were looking at it all and a fellow mechanic (i'm not one) said i would want to change out the BOV to avoid over pressure (or something like that).... now these guys are like me, like to work on trucks so i've never done a BOV.... and when i looked under reviews on NAM for them i got nothin... i did a few searchs and just dont feel i got the answers i was looking for..

*is it necessary to ungrade a BOV with all the mods i have and installing this new IC & TUBES (will be getting a tune next week so if that makes more boost i'm not sure)
*what BOV has a good review if it is cause for changing one?
*where can i find one on the fly (cause i want to install my ic LIKE YESTERDAY)
*is there anything else i should install while/if i'm changing the BOV and IC... i saw some vendors had adapters (forge) and other things like that that i'm unsure of

I have not been able to find any good reason to replace the factory BOV on the R56. Everything shows that the factory BOV is very capable so spend your money elsewhere for more HP.

I fell for the BOV hype at first. I pulled mine off and sold it today. I can tell you that it made NO difference what so ever. I didn't want to put the noismaker back on so I got NMD from DoS. I also ordered their intake. How great is Clint to work with. Great guy! I just wish I had done more homework before I started buying parts...

BOT... Don't bother with the BOV.

Yup thats generally how it works. People waste all sorts of money on stupid parts and then later wonder why they ever did it in the first place. It's amazing how the bigger companys (will not name names) are so good at marketing. They are essentially marketing companies, not tuning companies, and are very successful at what they do.......marketing.

And then you have one man shows/small companies (also will not name names, but sure you can figure it out) who don't even have a website that's worth a damn, yet their products speak for themselves and produce results that are worth every penny.

When you have a car which is designed for closed recirculation of boost...why replace it with a VTA BOV?

It's always seemed like a very simple concept to me, but people love to listen to the hype.

The fact of the matter is, the factory dv works. And it works under high boost pressures, just as good as it does under stock boost pressures. I can see possibly using a BOV with a bigger aftermarket turbo, but for 95% of the people here, they should be sticking with the stock DV.

You will experience boost pipe losses, but if you like the sound......
go for it.

I agree that the BOV does nothing for performance. I just bought one of a guy in this thread (you know who you are ) just for the noise. I have the JCW intake and I miss the BOV noise from my DDM works intake. I certainly wouldn't have paid retail for it
