I emailed John Cooper Works about the Works seats and 18" wheels, not currently available over here. I've got a JCW MCS ordered (8-10 months out), and I just received a reply that both the seats and the wheels will be available by that time. I'm totally pumped, as I've ordered a CR/W S, and the Works seats can come w/ red inserts. My motoring advisor also made it sound like I can order red door inserts as separate parts and have them put in as well. No word yet ont the price for either, or on whether the wheels can come in white, though I wouldn't be surprises if that option wasn't possible. Not sure how 18" white wheels would look anyway- I'd need to see some pics.

You could also have a body shop do your red door inserts. They could also do some other parts of the dash to match. I've seen it done on a few MINI's and it looks pretty good.

Would one of you move this to either Interior Mods or Performance Mods ... just somewhere so those that have the JCW kit can see it and post photos ? !

let's try performance mods since that's where all the other JCW content is.

When you get your MCS please do post pictures and let us know how you like the wheels and seats. JCW has many other upgrades planned but not yet available in the US. Hopefully next year more might be coming. Not sure if the JCW wheels would come in white. Haven't seen too many white 18" rims. Somewhat rare.

Best of luck with your upgrades.

I heard the JCW seats and 18" wheels would be available next month (December 2003)..........but that's just what I've read and heard.....not confirmed.

I installed the JCW side sills and they look great. They are a new item and not too many people know they exist.

The next question is: how will the JCW seats w/ red inserts on a CR/W MCS look w/ standard MINI back seat bottoms and backs? It might look pretty strange to have the mismatch. Hopefully JCW will come up w/ replacesment backs to fit w/ the killer looking fronts.

I have seen the wheels, but I haven't seen the JCW sport seats. Could you post a link or a picture? Sorry if I'm nieve about the whole matter.

According to:
http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/artic...oper_works.asp
They write-
Specially designed sports seats and a ‘Works’ 18-inch alloy wheel are available for John Cooper Works cars although can be retrofitted to all MINIs. The 18-inch wheel is a star design featuring five widening spokes giving the car a sporty and powerful look. It fits tyre sizes 250/40 R18 with runflat system.

The sports seats have been designed to offer superb grip. With a reinforced shoulder area and adjustable thigh support for added comfort, they can also be ordered with seat heating (provided the car being converted was purchased with this option). The ‘Works’ sports seats are available in the same range of colours as the standard range of MINI seats. Both the sports seats and the 18-inch wheel will be available from all official MINI dealers from April 2003. Prices will be announced closer to launch.
-----------
So you might be able to taylor the color of the seats the way you like, not just read.
And those are huge tires!

JCW Seats Update

This is the most current (over 1 year old, though) post I found on the search about the JCW Seats.

I'm looking through my newly purchased -- even though it's supposed to be Summer 2004 -- New Mini magazine. There's a picture of the JCW seats on page 66.

Are they available here yet? Have I missed something tremendously obvious and am now going to be flamed mercilessly?

Thanks for searching first.

You missed this one

The short of it is this: according to an upper level source at MINIUSA the JCW seats are not going to be sold in the U.S. due to the lack of airbags and BMWUSA's legal department not wanting MINIUSA to participate in the removal of crash safety equipment.
