It's been happening for a while....Alta was the one who announced it publicly.
He will be using the AP as it allows him more ability to tweak than Dimsport does (no more hunting for maps in the eprom)
I'm assuming all of the old tunes will be compatible correct? Bits is bits. However, does this mean it was a good idea to hold off on buying the flash tool? Will I be purchasing an Accessport tool in the future?
I guess now there is once again only one choice for tuning.
So now AP is the way to go? Makes sense since I had the older version(cobb) for my Evo and even the older one back in the day for my STI. Nice peice of hardware
So the dimsport tool is no longer in use? So as far as using it it should be no issue for the consumer(me) correct? I just need a way to get the tune on and off. Damn Technology!
When did Jan say he would just keep sending you updated files? I have a dimsport and would love to get the access port files for my device but really dont expect him to do so.
This is how I see it. Jan sold me a device to load a tune to my car that would increase it's performance and has met his end of the deal. He didnt say and by the way if a new technology or device becomes available in the future your older device will be able to accept these new tune files.
I really don't mind if Jan stops improving the power part of my existing tune with the dimsport, it's a pretty awesome drive.
I do hope that I can get the pop and burble without having to buy another tool...
And the p0420 fix would be really appreciated.

I could live with that I suppose. Then maybe upgrade later to the AP
My 1st gear still dumps boost not as much as before, but I am still feeling like my tune is not quite done yet.
I find the first gear boost dump still happens, but is only really noticeable when the car's not fully warmed up yet. I figure it's probably a good idea to keep that in place for the sake of longevity.
