Ok all, as promised, I'm providing you an update following my first track day following the RMW tune upgrade to my MCS w/JCW Stage 1.

I was at Mt-Tremblant race track with the BMW CC of Quebec and Ottawa Chapters for an Advance Drivers school. Highly recommend venue by the way as they are well organized and promote driving skills and safety.

I started the day in the intermediate run group as this was my first time at this track. I was moved to the advanced group for the second part of the day. Details, details....

Now for the part your interested in: the car performed flawlessly and ran really strong. Wow, what a difference ! This thing pulls non-stop in the oh so important 3rd to 4th acceleration/shifts, which is the sweet spot for many tracks. The car accelerates hard to the red line, so much so that I was running out of 4th gear in the back straight

Of course, many other components make a good track car but the fealing of sometimes wanting for power is gone.

Now all I have to do is become a better driver

I believe there is a guy out there driving an E46 M3 wondering how the heck this Mini filled his rearview mirror. Not bragging here BTW. Just love it when a light momentum car catches up to an HP powerhouse.

Jan, will this replace the tune we have if we get the pop and burble or will the handheld think it is another tune? (I don't want the P&B when my wife is with)

 

I think the handheld unit holds like 10 separate maps.
