In A Need For A Supercharger R53

Alright. It is time to change my R53 OEM supercharger. Anyone can help recommending an aftermarket one? Any threads or info about RMW's supercharger?

RMW doesn't just have superchargers. He has a Rotrex kit $$$$$$.
If you just need to replace your stock on with another he may be able to help. Otherwise you'll have to check ebay. There's a lot of them on sale there.

My car has done 48K miles. I have to change the gearbox, supercharger and throttlebody.

I need something better than OEM. I called Jan and he said they dont have anything right now. He said I Would better go OEM. Any comments?

gnaster has one for sale (oem) in the classifieds right now for a great price.

Aside from the Rotrex you dont have any options for an 'aftermarket' supercharger. You can have a factory one Ported and Polished, and then even coated, but thats the extent of it. Google search it (eaton supercharger rebuild) and you should have a lot of hits. Our supercharger is used in a decent amount of applications and wont be hard finding someone to service yours. One note on P&P, a common thing to do with is weld the 'silencer hole' shut, but this will increase IATs which isnt a good thing to do for our already high IAT cars.

If your location is right you may be better off checking the marketplace on MINI2 and minitorgue. Save on shipping and most likely cheaper. European ownersgot to keep thier original suprercharger if they upgraded too a JCW kit.

Good Luck

ENDYN has been reworking Eatons for the public since 1996. They do have upgrades for the MINI M45, http://theoldone.com/components/cyli...ead_modifi.htm.

Give them a call.

48k seems way early for a supercharger to go. I replaced mine at 190,000 miles after running a 15% pulley most of its life.

I haven't checked in awhile, but I got my new one off of ebay for ~$350.

Good luck.

I also just picked one up off ebay for 300, I am going to send it out and have it all re done even if it does not need it. I have almost 70 K on mine now and i want to have a spare for when it goes.

Did you ever check, replace, or top off the S/C oil in those 190K miles?

I'm amazed at the huge variation in S/C lifetimes. Must be a design or QC problem at Eaton since the consumer isn't supposed to maintain it ("lifetime lubrication"...).

Ha ha - no - didn't check it once. Still had some in it when I removed it. Probably still had 10's of thousands miles still left on it - the water pump gears were just starting to make noise.
