New Arqray Ti Exhaust :)

Pics of my new Arqray Ti Muffler with Stainless steel centerpipe. I will have it installed tom. More pics to follow once installed.

Welding was superbly done. Muffler was even stamped. Craftsmanship is really top notch!

To bad it has a muffler with crimped edges instead of welded edges.

a crimped muffler has a good chance of splitting at the seam .

JamesHunt, thanks for the explanation. According to the shop I got this from, it has been welded then stamped. I don't know if he is pulling my leg but that's what he told me hehe. Anyway, I'll have it installed later today

Maybe spotwelded which still aint that great for longevity.

Waste of money.pipe diameter is too small for a FACTORY JCW or a highboost tune.

I'm from the Philippines and I had this imported from Arqray Japan. The muffler section is Ti. Centerpipe with resonator is stainless. I paid 2600 usd for this kit. I know you can get it for around 1700 USD in the US as I had my cousin in Washington inquire the price for me.

It's now installed and the fir was PERFECT. It's really nice. As for the price if it's worth it, I don't know but at the end of the day, what's important is I'M HAPPY with it.

I will post a video sound clip once my CEL light due to a faulty High Pressure Fuel Pump is fixed. I will post pictures of the install later.

You're just jealous

Anything over 500 USD is too much? Doesn't almost all exhaust system cost over 500 usd?

Not at all

I am smart with my money

2600 USD would buy a nice turbo kit, tuning and a custom 3 inch exhaust.

Yeah, 2600 is a bit too much for a mini cooper exhaust but you can get the all steel version for 810 USD. I think it's pretty good value in my opinion. You get the same quality but in a different material.

I am not sure how many inch is this system but there is a reason why they did not make it too big. In Japan I think the maximum noise level is 90-95db and this system is JASMA approved. If the diameter is small, I think it's because of the law there.

looks like a 60 mm system. 60 mm is 2.36 inches.just a little bit larger than stock.

IMHO it would have been smarter to remove the cat that is after the downpipe, bought some
aftermarket tips and saved 2500 usd and had the same power gain give or take 1 hp.

Thanks for the insight. I'll check with my dealer what the actual diameter is. I never asked that question haha

Only a 1 HP increase? How many HP would a typical 3 inch exhaust contribute to power gains? Off topic, I noticed in your signature that you have a Forge intercooler, how much power gain does it give us? i also got one of those but I haven't got the chance to install it yet. Thnaks

MIN,

I think you misunderstood what he meant. He meant that your exhaust system would be within (1) HP more or less than compared to another system.

He wasn't saying that your exhaust only makes 1 HP more.

Looks good but I'm with JH, that's ridiculous amount of money for an exhaust for this car.

I spent 1000 on a custom made downpipe and full exhaust.

Having said that.... it's YOUR money and if you're happy with it, well, that's all that counts.

Oh! I see. So around how much gain would you get in a typical exhaust system?

I couldn't see an exhaust making more than five (catback) to fifteen (turboback) horsepower. Fifteen might be kind of on the high side too. Perhaps a tune would yield a high number as that!

the exhaust looks the same size as stock, may make maybe 0 hp to 5hp more than stock depending on the muffler and the bends, removing the second cat would have produced the same result.
