I have the JCW intake and I absolutely love the fact that it opens at 4500rpms only.
For more information on the JCW CAI read the Motoringfile article on it.

Most of us in the UK are running the Dave.F Hybrid CAI ($215) as in test on the dyno, drag strip and track it beat the previous best, a de-flapped JCW with ITG filter ($560).
The Dave.F is basically a modified stock airbox using a K&N Air Filter and is incredible value for MINI.
You can find info on them here:

Stock Airbox with drop in foam filter and "Ram Air/cowl inducton" mod in the back of box through stock opening in box to cowl area.
I ran a hose out the back and up to the top of cowl and placed a diverter on top of hose to capture and divert more air into box.
With an aftermarket cat back exhaust, 15% pulley and a custom tune with the air box mod..dollar to HP factor this mod made sence. I didnt want a loud intake/supercharger whine.
So..+1 for custom stock intake.
