What do they go for for your average small car? I'd be willing to spend probably 600 on a carbon fiber hood? I'd paint it though hehe...make it so just some CF is showing through...

I'm in if the parts will be exact repros of the stock parts body parts, using factory hardware, mount points, etc. I'll paint them so only I'll know.

Yeah I'm in for the hood definitely, and maybe the hatch.

I'd be even more interested if the CF hood was made so that the hood scoop and the headlight trim aren't separate pieces.

Hey Kids...why reinvent the wheel.

http://www.seiboncarbon.com/pdut_det...asp?ItemID=567

http://www.seiboncarbon.com/pdut_det...asp?ItemID=970

I have these going on my car this week, for SEMA. These are the most beautiful things I have ever seen (I haven't gotten my wheels yet). They use a single, uncut sheet of carbon, so there aren't ANY seams. They are hand made, so some modification is needed, but for the mostpart, all the threads are there, the "hooks" for the latch are there...everything. I weighed my hood vs. the carbon and it was about 18 lbs lighter. I think they are in the $700 range. So sexy though.

Well, since that company only has bonnets for 02-06 and boots for 02-04...that won't do the 2nd gen people (where this is posted) any good.

LoL, glad I wasn't the only one who caught that.

I know a guy who does superb carbon fiber pieces, but with a product that large, the initial buy in would have to be quite a bit... like possibly 12-15 orders, and pre-paid... otherwise he won't even be interested in spending the time to do it.

18 lbs really doesn't seem worth it for that much money, although it would look sweet.

Going on a diet never seems worth the money, it's a plan that involves more than one piece. It takes time and several pieces that add up.

Mmm might be a lil more than 18lbs considering the the hood and hatch of the r56 is a lil bigger/thicker
