GREETINGS!

do a search for exhaust systems and you will find an exhaustive resource on this topic with good results for much less than US$2,500. WebbMotorSports has reviewed quite a few of them.

Do some more reading. 182 hp for USD2500 is a rip off. If nothing else just go to the sponsors' web site. BUt I'm an old man what do I know. I know how to spend money. I see this is your first post. Welcome aboard.

Motor on

acotam,
Aloha and welcome to MCO-
In short the answer is no. There is more to be gained with a moderate investment in a cat-back exhaust
(check out the UUC <7 HP and 7 ft lbs gain> or Alta cat-back exhausts to start with as well as many of the normal standards of Magnaflow, Borla street and Borla Racing, Quicksilver, etc.)
Save the rest of the money for a set of lightweight wheels or a pulley and ECU upgrade if you have an MCS.

Sounds pretty cool, my Stebro exhaust is just held up by those rubber muffler-hanger things, not springs, and definitely not supersprings.
Just messin' with ya.

I doubt ANY aftermarket exhaust could produce a 20hp increase. Possibly a header and exhaust, but not exhaust alone.

Their posted hp gains are for a FULL exhaust system, not just a cat back - their header, their piping and mufflers. These numbers are not really unbelievable, because I think their header was cat-free, or had a high flow cat. This complete system is pricy, but looks nice. If you got the bucks, go for it. I don't know if your dealer will honor your warranty with a header though.

$2500 for 20 horseys is way too expensive. I recommend:

15% reduction pulley $400 and 20hp
Alta Intake $250 and 6hp
Magnaflow Cat Back $550 and 12 hp

then spend the rest +/- $1300 on great wheels and tires.

that is $2500 much better spent on your MINI

That makes more sense. If you add up some of the other pricey systems out there like a QS exhaust at $800 and a header for $1200, the Supersprint isn't all that horrible. I think they are partialy selling their name though because they are very well known in the racing world.
MGCMAN has the right idea though - $2500 can go a long ways towards other parts that will make a bigger difference.
