i didnt even know they made one for ours until i surfed around today but check this out.

good gains too for the price.

6.9 hp and 4 lbs ffor 649. not bad in my opinion.

One potiential problem is those extra 2 flanges. Stock up on those gaskets. Also no CAT. A high flow CAT could be costly.

The other exhaust headers for the MINI are also claiming about 6 HP so this is nothing new. What we need is some independent testing all done at the same time on production versions of the headers that we can buy. Tested on the same one dyno and in each of the MCS and MC using one stock exhaust system and one aftermarket cat-back system.

Some notes-
Complete Stainless Steel construction throughout including CNC milled flanges
* 16 gauge US made Stainless steel tubing
* Tig welding inside and outside of exhaust ports
* 2 phase tapered Primary tubes for high velocity
* True merged collectors
* Proper Ball Socket Joint absorbs Engine Movement
The header has three parts.
The first is the primary tubes that taper from 4 to 2 pipes of the same size at the first join.
The second is the 2 pipes (one has the first O2 sensor) that merge to one pipe ending with a ball socket joint.
The third section is a straight pipe that has no sport cat (has a second O2 sensor at the end). There is no provision for a optional sport car so this unit is not street ready. I would expect it to be loud.
And for California owners this is not CARB exempt.

I would think that the three piece design would be a great advantage in terms of installation, but I don't know... it may be really dificult to get to those flanges once you're under the car. I think I will definitely look into this one further. The quality from the picture looks really good. I just wonder about all of those gaskets...

As someone said on MINI2, where does it flex? The other header units, including the stock one, have that flex-like brading. I certaintly wouldn't install one of these prior to the pulley mod (engine lift procedure). Just the "twisting" of the engine alone during driving would seem to necessitate this. If that is true, there is going to put a strain introduced somewhere. I can see the the exhaust tips swinging left/right in response to the torque steer of the engine Maybe I'm wrong....

I have one here now and will install monday if all goes well. The flex situation is covered by one of the flanges being spring loaded from what i see in the box as there are two heavy duty springs about the same diameter as the bolts. Motor flex is less than normal due to the upper motor mount being one of the semi solid ones from Diamond Racing group.Page Title maxmini site

To me from the picture it looks like the joint that flexes is between piece two and three. The two bolts move a little and the joint may have a flexible gasket or material to allow movement. My milltek has a built in braided flex joint in the header itself that allows quite a bit of movement to help with installation.

Prices still a bit high and all hovering in the same range. We need some competition here. But first some tests...

the flex section appears to be at the very end. It looks to be the same system as the supersprint as far as taking care of flex.

Correction, I just laid out all 3 pieces and the flex part is between the second and last piece. It is where the two pipes go to one. The system is 4 to 2 to 1 and is really well put together . The header flange is thick enough to certainly do the job without warping a common problems on low end header systems. The welds are clean and the brushed finish looks very good but now to showy ala chrome. All nuts and bolts are included and the only " gaskets " are actually two metal o ring type which go between the 4 to 2 flanges. I'll post install pics beginning of the week, Randy

I just checked the MiniMoss site and they have it listed for $549. A hundred bucks makes a difference.
