Drivetrain Mynes Bytronik Individual Cylinder Tuning on Stock ECU
Mynes Bytronik Individual Cylinder Tuning on Stock ECU
so on my first pass of the day I felt a plug go at 1200ft, I've finally have learned to get my foot off asap instead of keeping it in
So i get back to the pits pull the plugs and as per usual No 2 is the culprit and No 3 looks like it would follow shortly afterwards.
So Jay says "Do you want me to richen it up on that cylinder"
I say " I dont know if you've noticed but we're on a stock Mini ecu not a Motec"
Jay replies "But the stock ecu has the capability to do it and we have developed the Bytronik software so you can adjust it if you want to"
Guess what, no more melted plugs, and now I want to fit 4 x 02 sensors to my header
and fine tune each cylinder.
All I have to do now is hide his passport

What about using EGT to tune rather than o2 ? I honestly dont know the pros&cons between the two as i havent researched it, but i know the 'top draggers' use EGT to tune. The probes are certainly smaller.
I am also VERY VERY happy 'Mynes' has jumped into this mouse game.

. Paul had some mis-fires too, so we adjusted the Ignition Dwell time on the stock ECU to charge the coils a tad bit longer in the higher RPMs on nitrous. And the misfire went away
Yeah, that's the real deal to compensate for all of the real world differences in cylinder efficiencies. Envy comes to mind......!

You are correct, but most tuners now uses both. We have both EGT and Widebands on each cylinder on our drag car to really fine tune each cylinder due to compression differences, intake manifold runner flow, exhaust manifold flow etc etc. It's really cool that we can do that on the MINI the stock ECU and a lot more as well!!!!

I hope that Mynes will drop by the PNW someday as my car still pings and rough during cold start and lumpy when its too hot even after RMW tune.
Since then, I have installed an IE cat-back & Mynes headers but a cam is itching me before another tune.
