New ACT clutch + flywheel = master/slave cylinder failure

I had an ACT clutch/flywheel installed recently. According to my mechanic, failure of the clutch master/slave cylinder after installing an upgraded clutch is pretty common. He knows other MCS owners that have replaced the slave cylinder 5 or 6 times. I'm wondering age has anything to do with it - my MCS is a 2002.
Since the failures are related to increased hydraulic pressure, is there an after market replacement available? I'm going to have an oem slave cylinder installed but need to determine if a more robust part is out there - perhaps adapting something to the mini.
Anybody have any advice?

I have replaced my slave after both clutch swaps in my turbo'd setup. I have had one other failure, but the clamping force is pretty high on the CM's I have in there now....I too have heard of multiple failures with the OEM clutch and it is just a poor design overall. No aftermarket solutions out there that I can think of...but a high quality billet/CNC'd piece will some heavier seals would be dope....

How has it failed?? no longer strong enough to disengage the clutch?

Yes, the clutch no longer fully disengages. This causes a lot of wear on the synchros. Given what appears to be an inherent problem with the oem slave cylinder, a new slave should be installed when upgrading to a higher clamping force clutch. The new oem slave will most likely fail, but it will work for a while. My dad and I are looking at what it will take to produce a slave using billet aluminum. PM me if you want to be kept up to date on the possiblity of a new slave.

I've got the ACT system

and I didn't have a slave failure. But it's not one of the best parts out there, that's for sure (the slave that is). Failures are pretty common.

I'm pretty sure the age of the slave cylinder - 2002 original part - had a lot to due with the almost immediate failure.

I had a new slave cylinder put on when I had my CM setup installed less then 7k miles ago and I'm pretty sure its already going bad unless its my clutch going bad already...

Haven't been able to put many miles on the kit, but My general impression is very positive. No clutch chatter and firm "right now" engagement. I like it.
