Any eta and price yet? Also, if I gt a Jan tune on my stock clubby s now and add the remote tuner, would I be able to tweak it myself if I added exhaust and intake later? If not, what would it cost to get a quick retune? I live in irvine btw and work there too. About 2 miles from you I can almost taste the power lol

I will have final pricing once they are finished. They were supposed to be done by Nov30th

once you have the flash tool, we can update your maps for you very easily as new things come about

But did they say which Nov30th They would of been better off saying March 2010, have they given you any indication of a new date

By saying DP I'm assuming your saying downpipe? And what are CEL's (good/bad/ugly)? I was thinking about the downpipe but I have a JCW (I guess its a stage one kit) tune kit and emailed Jan to see if his tunes it would help increase for my MCS but he's probably busy...

But you also mentioned IC which I'm guessing is Intercooler. Something to have done befor you think about a tune from JAN?

IC = Intercooler, Helix (disclosure-I have this on mine), DP downpipe (disclosure-I don't have one on mine), Alta and Forge ICs work well, too.

As far as CELs on the DP, the only one I have heard not throwing CELs is the one offered by Exhaust Depot. Most of the CELs thrown can be reset and mostly are aggravation and don't normally affect your performance.

RISS is promoting their 02 SIM for their DP and others, not a proven item, yet. They might or might not have a solution to the DP CEL issue.

I believe Jan can get you a few more HP/TQ from the Stage 1 kit, it all depends on any mods you have and what you are comfortable doing to your MINI.

I'm currently looking forward to the remote tool for the R56. I have had zero problems with my MINI since the tune last August.

I know you guys are frustrated with waiting but everyone needs to remember ONE thing. Jan has over 75 people that is waiting for this tool.

I have no idea how much he's selling it for but there's at least 20K worth of sales.

Jan has not ONE reason not to want to sell these and get people off his azz. Unfortunately, the people supplying the part is delaying him.

(this wasn't directed to you Paul...everyone in general)

So be patient people, I assure you he will sell them as soon as he gets his hands on them.

i hope base map tunes are open source. then you can modify from there. kind of like a subaru utec set-up.

if we are just using it to flash the ecu jan will struggle to keep those files from leaking if he does not want to keep them open source like many other flashing systems have.

still awaiting arrival of these units, i want one so bad! jan you gotta slap someone around to expedite this...lol this forum has been waiting forever for this thing.

It's been said time after time after time, it's not going to be open source. You're not going to be seeing open source tuning on this car. Why people still insist on comparing our ECU to a Subaru's baffles me....

Even if people get the files, I'm guessing they are probably encrypted, and on top of that, the person would need to have the full Dimsport software/hardware to alter them...which is big $$$$$$.

So just to make sure, is the tuning going to be open source or not?

**********NEWS FLASH****************

word from Italy is: Flash tools COULD ship a week from next Wed!
so I am going to start a thread and for those wanting to purchase the tool please confirm in THAT thread. I will discount the tools accordingly to how many people want them as they give us discount pricing on them for quantity ordered. Current Euro pricing is this: 298 Euros for the tool so around $415 USD

If you already had a RMW tune, will you ship them with the personalized and factory tunes?

How many tunes can the flash tool hold?

If we share with someone else, can a generic moddified tune come preloaded?
