Drivetrain Is it possible for an ECU to raise the MCS power by 40 HP?!?

I was looking at this page...
http://www.delriopower.com/productos...motor_chip.htm
40 HP / 50 lb/ft from just an ECU upgrade.
Is this even possible? Every ECU upgrade maybe raises the power by 10, 15 HPs. Would such an upgrade be safe / possible?

Yeah, I thought about it, too. And apparently, those guys are using the "turn the screw twice and you'll get more power" trick (modifying the actuator's travel).
I don't think so..
I like warranties, so Santa will probably bring me a JCW Stage 1 kit instead. :D

I don't know.. the thing is, I haven't seen such kits offered anywhere else.
I called those guys and they told me they just interfaced through the OBDII port, made a backup of my software and uploaded the new one.
They do claim 40 extra HP. I don't know if it's peak or not (I suspect not). And they are one of the most respected tuning companies around here.
I really don't know whether to risk my car. Apparently, the JCW Stage 1 kit is far too expensive for what it does, anyway.

40hp - no. 40 lbs torque - yes.
Some person might say yes to 40hp gain, but if you did a dyno before and after you'd see it doesn't.
30hp wouldn't be out of the question.

As I said earlier, you might see upwards of 40-50 horsepower AND ft-lbs of torque at certain parts of the rev range. Below is an example of an RMW tuned car....almost 50 hp gain near the redline...but only 30 hp gain in peak hp. That extra 50 near the top end makes a world of difference...let me tell ya.

Those graphs look awesome.
Coming from a Civic Si, I really miss the top end power (I'd trade it again and again for the low end torque of the Mini, though). How many mods did it take to achieve those gains? (Sorry, I think it has been discussed before, but I can't remember).
Wow... I'll search for info on that! I'm now thinking that the tune that these guys are selling me is similar to the RMW. If so, I'll definitely go for it (at $600, I think it's fairly priced).
It'd be interesting to see what they can get out of your car. Especially since you apparently have a non us spec car. When I tune an R56 the 40lbs of torque is pretty typical, the HP numbers vary depending on mods. But torque is what moves it. Good luck
