Drivetrain R56 custom tuning by RMW
still have work to do on it but it still made 19hp and about 15tq
What question? I hope to shout he's at 205 with all the crap he has. (No offense Steve
). Few thoughts on it though, A) It would seem to me his car is probably a pretty strong one to begin with B) it would probably put down some pretty good numbers when tuned...assuming it can be tuned correctly.
What explanation? Mine?
PS. the car being discussed...that I was discussing was mine.

Not to say that it's crap, but for the money spent, the parts should do what the vendors and their research say they do. Also agree that my car may be more powerful to begin with, your not the first person to say that. Certainly 205whp off just bolt ons seems crazy when you think about the stock car that Jan dyno'd was at 162whp. Then again, I have seen stock cars make 170 to 175whp stock and unfortunately, I never dyno'd stock...
sport off = standard for friends, dealer visits and valet
sport on = sport mode + RMW tune
that would be sweet.
i'm impressed with RMW's numbers, but i might wait to see what the other tuning options present, one in particular has mentioned having multiple maps accessible, allowing re-flashes depending on what type of driving you plan on doing.

we have a flash tool that will allow us to this,,,, still waiting on the software for the maps I have sent them.... they keep saying 2 days... I guess that's Italian for... when it gets done
I'm just putting it out there in case there is a possibility. My friends tend to choose places that valet for bday dinners and such. I don't want some flunky thinking it's one of those 'slow' mini's, mash the pedal and end up sexing the back of a bentley, or play bumper tag trying to parallel in the smallest available space on a side street.

Hopefully there'll be some adjustments to the traction control sensitivity and re-enabling the pop & burble as well.
sorry for the dumb questions, what exactly will the ECU tell to give and generate more boost?
Yo, Thumper.
Do you have a dyno chart you can post up to make us envy that torque?
Your going back for more when RMW gets all the details worked into the R56 tune, right?
Really nice to see the R56 getting some attention.

We're currently at 229 torque, 192 horsepower...which is about a 25 hp peak gain at the wheels for me. Overall though, the hp and torque curves are more robust, so the difference is very noticeable. Also, instead of dying off around 5k, the power remains...as is evident on the dyno graph of the stock car that Jan posted on page 2.
Driving it slow around the city has proven to be much improved over stock, there is so much torque between 2-3k that you barely need to push the gas to accelerate up to the speed of traffic. It's very much like a little turbo diesel in that sense. And then the next HUGE difference is the torque in 6th gear at freeway speeds. Let's say you're cruising at 80-90, in 6th, you push the gas down and you are gone. On the freeway I thought that it feels very similar in pull to the RMW 2.0L stroker cars if any of you have ever been in one.
Drove it around a lot yesterday, gave many friends a ride and all were quite impressed in how it pulls. Did a few canyon runs, and as expected the added torque really is a wonderful addition as it pulls you out of the curves....quickly and effortlessly. Also, not to **** the NAM police off, but let's just say it will surprise you with what cars you can take from a stoplight or freeway roll.

Well...the past 2 days have been anything but "normal" driving!
I just can't stay off of the gas...it's like my own amusement park ride now!
So, I can't really effectively comment what the mpg is doing. I tried to take it easy for a little bit and just do some calm city driving and i think my avg was about 28 mpg...which is about what was before the tune.

Thank you Thumper! So not to violate any guidelines, try to be general in your commentary, which you have been in the above postings.
I like the fact that the torque increase is across the range, I imagine it might even feel a little like the stock 09 JCW, I hope so.
I'm sure we all look forward to your v 2.0 dyno charts in a few weeks.
Keep us up to date on your MPG. Once you get over the demo rides.
