Nuke,
I was amazed as well! My gas mpg(which has always been low) was 27.2 fro San Antonio to El Paso. On the trip back it was 37! Talk about icing on the cake. Glad you had a safe trip back. I am loving my tune!!

I just drove from El Paso to Alpine, TX (about 219 miles) and I could not believe what my eyes were seeing. My gas mileage went up about 10MPG! 43.5 MPG Average consumption, WTF? I thought that my trip computer was messed up or something so I kept an eye on the gas needle and guess what? I used about 1/4 less gas than usual. It could have been better but the wind was wild and I kept a constant 80 mph all the way.

I seriously thought that I was going to sacrifice MPG for HP. I had a performance cam and 550cc injectors installed and tune and I gained 40.5whp.

The best of both worlds, more power and increased fuel economy! Now that is a very big and welcomed bonus!

Dr. Phil and Mbsat what was your MPG average on your trip back home?
Ah, yes the wind. That was crazy! We drove through a duststorm. I am curious to see how the gas mileage is in the city now. I am glad I bought those 550's

Tex's car (with his son driving) got the fastest time, but when Tex drove, he got the highest speed on the track... At that time, Tex's car was pushing 228WHP on our MD and this was back in early 2007.

It's worthy to note that Tex has the stock SC and the 2nd fastest car has the M62 SC. Only his car was custom tuned by Mynes on the stock ecu, while the rest were a mixture of MTH, Dinan, Shark Injector, etc...

Once again, a BIG THANKS to Barry at MC2

Didn't Justin (isellem) do most of the work to Tex's car? It has all of his parts from what I remember...

It's a shame Justin's not in the MINI world anymore!

Yes Justin did all the work. Not sure if he is doing the work for Tex now. All we did at MYNES is tune the ECU to the mods.

Tex was gracious enough to bring his car back for a retune today; we were able to get 253WHP/183WTQE on our MD.

Net Gain from this tune
: 253WHP/183WTQE (+31WHP / +22WTQE)
June 2008 (tune check): 222WHP/161WTQE
Originally Tuned in 2007: 228WHP/163WTQE

All of the cars that I know of which used GMW parts always put down strong numbers...especially those with their head.

So now months have passed, and everything around the tune has been great. Im not just saying that because I like the guys at Mynes, Im saying that because I am honestly happy with how my car performs and its partly if not mostly because of a tune.
Looking foward to some more mods now...

And here's my Dyno chart from the event:

2005 MCS, 15% s/c pulley baseline; Hubie's V1 cam, Bosch 550cc injectors, cooler NGK Iridium plugs, and Myne's ECU tune.

We have completed our relocation to Lake Forest and are able to do more tuning

Tuned a 2004 MCS with 15% pulley w/ header & exhaust; baseline was 162whp/161wtqe...

Final: Added the 550cc injectors and a custom tune, got 193wtqe/185whp

PM me if you'd like to set up an appt. We'll be on the road on most weekends, but we are in town during the weekdays :D

cheers.
