Drivetrain Anyone try this intake?
not me, i would not take any of those systems that channel air to your intake....
i said it once, just do an open air intake, and open your scoop, theres plenty of cold air coming in...my intake temps are always 10-20 degrees above ambient with this setup, and thats pretty good imo

So...... Just so everyone knows
I got the DDM Street Intake(easiest, cheapest, plus local to me)
I am going to get the DDM RIS scoop system
I have dremmeled out the holes in the plasstic grill of the scoop. (Because I just like the look of the grille too much)
I will also be testing the nm engineering strut brace with all the items to see if it fits(I will be working with namotors on that one)
My main motive was being able to hear the turbo spool.

I'm getting my car Dynoed at 4 this afternoon at Stock and I will be doing it again after I get the intake, then after I got the scoop system. If you'd like I'll send you the results. I will also be posting them on this forum.
it just makes me laugh when i see it.....bigger is not always better....., and when it comes to intakes, none of htem make any real power....and im sure there are a 1000 ppl that will chime in and say oh its good oh its this, but thats just good marketing...its unecessary, its too big....
Yea, an intake on a Honda NA 1.5 will be negligible, but say, on a new EVO or Mazdaspeed3, you'll see people getting between 10-20hp at the WHEELS with just an intake.
I wouldn't be surprised with ANY intake on a MINI making at least 3 more whp, conservatively. Probably more like 5-10 depending on the setup.
Intakes DO make power, and especially on turbocharged cars, where the amount of air it can suck in is increased due to the forced induction.

this is why i say get the cheapest intake, they all are the same, those large awkward intakes arent any better, neither is the scoop set up....the only reason people question all these intakes is because there are like 5 different kinds with different options and huge prices, being expensive doesnt always make it good.
These are Dyno sheets of my car at stock. I just installed my DDMworks Street intake yesterday and will be getting it dynoed soon. At least when I get some money. My car is an automatic so they told me the dyno will show about 25% less on paper than the car actually has. But here you guys go!
A couple of things. On the dyno results, do these folks measure SAE and WHP? Seems low for the three runs. SAE dyno?
A data point for you, our recent runs measuring 4 R56s, one a 09 JCW.
Data with details over in the MINI5280 area.
Stock R56 MCS, 191 WHP
My MCSa (DDM WORKS Street Intake, stock exhaust, stock ecu) 205 WHP
Other MCS (ALTA CAI), stock exhaust, stock ecu) 205 WHP
09 JCW (DOS CAI), JCW WORKS Exhaust, 09 JCW ecu) 215 WHP
My MCSa made the same WHP on two different DYNO days, since I want to check for consistancy. DYNOJET Dyno.
All pulls done in 4th gear for the 6 speeds and 3rd gear for my MCSa. No overboost numbers, straight HP. 3 or 4 runs per MCS.
Only one point to be made, the CAI on the R56 will make horsepower.

Just had the DDMWorks RIS install by DDMWorks. Had a 90 min. drive home and had some time to play. There was a noticeable SOP difference in engine response throughout the range but from 50 mph up under acceleration you can really feel it. A little bit of intake and BOV noise. Great fit and finish and great guy's to work with. Look forward to more products from them.
Anyone has a clue why not?
