As you said, you seem to be doing pretty well with your current setup. If you are running the Janspeed header and are happy with it why would you consider changing it out? This thread is for discussing the issue with the codes on the RMW. I think everyone on here is disappointed with the code issue but has confidence because RMW is working on correcting it, unlike some other vendors who have no customer support after the sale.

That's fine that you are interested in finding out what the issues are with the RMW header, we all are, but your posts do come off as flaming people for choosing this header over others. If that's not your intent, perhaps you should choose your wording more carefully.

It's such a bad header just for that reason.

blows up . Some peoples kids .

Well it's a good thing you got the Janspeed then . From reading your post here and other places it is very clear your not out for the best products but rather good products at a cheap price. Nothing wrong with that. But why now do you feel the need to start flaming people alone your path to greatness?

Please don't give your "I have much respect" speech either as it's getting old.

As davisflyer indicated, choose your words carefully. Like any other written document, unless the writer reads to you in person, it is up to the reader to interpret what the writer is stating and how its being stated. Your post to Longboard comes off as argumentative.

You guys crack me up. "choose your words carefully" ? Oh man. We are talking about a header here. Seriously. This header kicks @ss, but you guys take this too serioulsy. Who cares what he says. You act like he came to your house and kicked your dog. Ignore him if he bothers you so much. He is NOT the only one who wanders into threads that have nothing to do with him and make passive aggressive comments

Davisflyer please keep us posted on yours. I cant wait to get one that has no codes.

Thanks for the comments and replies guys...still havent answered the question thou...what constitutes the best? Why RMW and not others? I never ever said the RMW shorties are bad BUT note that being able to afford a premium brand does not mean you have the best...

Oh and LB, you're right...I'll get the best equipment for the right money, eg. Janspeed (US$400) and capable of over 280HP..I think I got a good deal dont you think?

Just got back from a rather spirited run to the bank. Love the way this header sounds. Going on 300+ miles code free. I've got Summit Point and MOTD coming up to really put it ot the test

Ya man $400 is great. Like I said you wanted something good at a cheap price and that's what you got. Nothing wrong with that at all . Did you search ebay before buying the Janspeed? They have lots of good headers that would have given you about the same performance for cheaper. I used to have an OBX which is a great little header. They even have ceramic one's on eBay for $150 .

Go back and look at the photo's I posted of the RMW headers. I'm sure you will figure out what makes them such great performers.

Here are a sampling of ebay's best. Some look very familiar .

Remember, it's not just the the replacement of the header it's also the cost of INSTALLING the header.

I don't think that any one wants to drive you away. The problem will be solved with a different cat from another vendor, when Jan sends me the replacement header I will have it installed as soon as I can and report. For now I'm just waiting in the orange glow of an SES light.

Ha! I will do the same. I am curious as to who is going to make the cat now. They cleared my code this past weekend. 300 miles later it was back. At least we know its the bad cat, searching around for the cause is lame.

Any timeline on when we are getting headers with good cats and no codes? Anything is better than waiting with no clue.

Actually I have, I have called and left messages with phone #'s (twice) e-mailed with address's and phone #'s, and pm'd with all of the above and today he got back to me with a pm. He gave me three options (1) Drive to Cali and he will remove the header fix it and reinstall it. I can't take this option with my work and so on that just can't happen, and really to have a vendor ask you to take a 1000 mile or better road trip to fix a problem with his product. (2) Wait untill he has a "spare" so he can replace the cat and flex joint and then send it to me and I will have it installed. This is the option that I guess that I will have to take, although if he is still selling new headers I really don't see why one can't be sent to me. Or (3) Remove the header and send it to him so he can replace the cat and flex joint and send it back to me. This is also an option that I can't do, the car is a daily driver so that will not work. Along with option 2 and 3 there is the cost of removing and installing the unit, at Mynes it's nearly $300, I'm not a rich man so this is alot of money to me, not to mention to AutoScanner that I had to buy to clear the codes in the first place. I do like the header, it sounds great and makes lots of power and torque but this SES light is a pain in the A$$ and the header is starting to cost way more than the $850 that I payed for it.

I would go somewhere else to have it installed... $300 for replacing a header is highway robbery.... We install a cam AND HEADER for $350

Well that's great Jan are you and Helix going to help with the cost of removing and installing and shipping the header? Or would it be best if you just send me a check for the cost of the header and a UPS shipping tag so we all can get along with our lives.

45 min in and out at the most. I haven't heard of anyone paying more than $100.00 to do a header. Alta , Madness or who ever would make you send it back to make sure a cat was bad. Not sticking up for any certain vendors but it's a commam practice in the aftermarket.

I'm sure there are lots of mini people in the phx area who would be willing to help you swap out the header so you can send it in.. there's got to be someone with a stock one lying around. If I were coming up to phoenix this weekend I'd offer myself... heck, I'm even planning to drive to Cali in the summer if you want to wait a while and save on shipping..

I was getting 0420 codes with the race version RMW header.. spent $10 at exhaust works and the post-cat extension they put on has worked like a charm so far.

I think that it would be best if Jan just refunded my money and I gave his header back. It would be a happy ending to a sad story.

I think the POINT here isn't about removing it himself anyways. He PAID to originally have it put on.
