Drivetrain Cam install help
Cam install help
Would anyone be able to scan the pages of either Bentley or Haynes etc workshop manuals re cam removal/install? I'm planning on doing the install, but want details on what i'm in for.

Honestly its not that bad.,
I didit.
so anything you want to know just ask.
You do have to take the wheel off and take the inner fender liner out but other than that your pretty set
The tensioner deal is a pain in the *** as well.

I'm not sure of tq settings, or the proceedure for holding the timing chain in place. Would be awesome to have the manual scans as backups

Get a helper to hold the timing chain throughout the procedure OR tie it up out of the way.
It's probably a good call to borrow the Bentley from a friend or buy one. It's a good investment if you opt to purchase it!
You may not have to take off your passenger wheel and liner; you just have to remove the motor mount. Good luck!

I just completed this, and honestly the Bentley isn't all that helpful. There's more on NAM than in the book.
There are only a couple of bolts to torque (cam/rocker journals are 22ftlbs, cam sprocket it 75 ftlbs, engine mount bracket is 75ftlbs). The manual assumes you have all the factory tools which few people have, and you can easily work around them. I found the hardest was removing and torquing the cam sprocket.
If someone would make a wrench to remove the cam tensioner nut at the rear of the engine block (the oil cooler is slap in the wrong place) I think you could sell it for a whole lot.
Otherwise, it's pretty straight forward.
Like the others who offered, feel free to ask any question.
