Calling out OBX

All you OBX users please give me some information on the products, primarily the exhaust. I'm thinking as of now, to upgrade from my one-ball to a cat back(yes i know the obx isnt a true ). I might get a header too whether it be the RMW or the OBS. More likely the OBX just because of the price.

Anyone have the obx exhaust and vouche for it?
What does it shound like? Is the burble still present?

i did search OBX and most of the threads are about the header. I want to focus on the exhaust. I only found 2 threads about the exhaust and only 2 people had them installed. i want to see if more people have them since then...thanks for the advice tho

I personaly bought the Rmw stuff because i knew it would work with the high flow head i so dearly need.
But if thats not your plan go for the obx just make sure you ride in a car with the head cam header system to be sure.
Get fully settled before pulling the trigger.

i would love to sit in a car but no one around my area has modded mini. Only one and he has a JCW exhaust with rmw header. It sounds amazing and performs great too. I have the 15% pulley, CAI, and the one ball. It feels like i need more flow at the low end and top end.

Wait, you list location as SoCal, I gather that is Southern California as opposed to South Calgary and you say no one around the area has a modded MINI? I realize that SoCal is a big area but there are lots of folks that post here in the same region that have modded MINI's. Look in the clubs forums, go to cars and coffee, call Jan or M7 or MINI Corsa, or the other 1/2 doz MINI shops in the region.

And if is South Calgary...hows the skiing this year?

Ummm....I get that from the BMW scene x10. But it will always be like that....doesnt matter what forum. But I dont know what info your trying to gather from owners. You have seen the videos....heard the exhaust note....and read up on previous threads. So what else are you after? I can tell you that even with the kit...you still need to weld in a mid-pipe. Did I solve the riddle?!!??!

im trying to see if anyone had problems with it. I mean a semi cat back for $250 i dont trust all too much. I like the sound i want to see the quality in the long run. I also want to see if its worth buying...as in will i see any performance increases with that as apposed to the one ball

I'm running both the header and exhaust. I went from 1-ball, added header and then added OBX exhaust because I wasn't getting sound satisfaction.

its been on the car for a couple of years - no issues or problems.
burble = you bet ya.
sound = loud when on the throttle, gotten compliments from other minis. It has mellowed over time for the better. I found it a bit raspy for my taste in the beginning. I also changed the tips to the SS Viper and felt the tone changed.

is there better = you bet ya. for a lot more money = you bet ya.

regrets non but then I'm not on the track.

trying doing a search outside of NAM but on NAM's site. The search feature on this website is horrendous! go to yahoo or google and in search type "site:www.northamericanmotoring.com obx exhaust" and see what comes up. it will be narrowed to this website. Hope this helps you out as that's how i do my searching on NAM.

Steve

Just a quick minute searching and found this plus a ton more on Google. Here ya go:
