Why would he buy a finished cam, then have it reground? That makes no sense. Newman cams are made from new blanks. Why wouldn't Jan be buying new blanks to grind rather than spend $200 bucks a cam to have it reground?

For that kinda money you might as well have Crower regrind OEM cams.

I'm talking from a different angle. I saw the box he got in at Helix from the UK and they went right into cars that week

Ok I've read it.

As Tony mentioned this is a debate that has long gone on with other products. Intakes Pulleys Exhausts Wheels to name a few. It's something the site guidelines point out is only expected to happen.

This thread isn't about changing how your car functions with whatever named cam you bought, but just where it was actually coming from. Vendors having suppliers is a common practice in the community.

This thread isn't about personal vendettas either, yes the OP has earned a reputation, but this is respectfully asked and the OP is trying to keep it to the topic at hand and eliminate the deteriorating conversation. And by Onasled's own admission, he may very well be on the short end of a miscommunication.

There seems to be two ways to clear this up. RMW can step in and provide the requested info, or the products can be scrutinized and perhaps clarified, or at least left to where people have the information and can draw their own conclusions.

But it has to be kept respectful, and if the question gets lost in other banter then it's really not helping answer the OP's question, that alot of people seem to want to know the answer to. Which I think is why this was not direct via PM orgianlly, Onaseld saw the potential for that. What I do wonder is if anyone has PM'ed RMW to make them aware of this to see if they wanted to provide some input.

So let's keep this one on topic, and see what we learn about what the options are or aren't with these cams. I'd be really inteerested in seeing the specs and photos on them in a compare and contrast to see how similar or dissimilar they may be.

Well the last half a page was posted as I typed and updated the thread in a new window and I was addressing all 5 pages, and just throwing a reminder out for previous posters to keep it going as such.

I want to see the discussion keep going! you've been doing well.

Yes it is a Newman cam. Paul can tell you as he worked with RMW to bring them into the US. RMW is the exclusive US distributor for Newman. So what! And yes, Newman makes more then one cam for RMW. Has anyone in the US purchased a cam directly from Newman ?

This thread brought out all the M7 boys and Yes folks that's all this is about plain and simple. Does Onasled have an agenda? Hell yes. To think Jan will answer any questions in a thread started by this guy is just crazy. It's not going to happen.

If you have a question regarding any RMW product all you have to do is call. Jan goes out of his to answer any and all questions. The haters in this thread don't own nor have any intentions to purchase any RMW products.

They have a very transparent agenda here . I can here the donkeys now PMing each other. Oh we got him now, we got him now .

I think for the most part you have been pretty respectful, PGT and others. Thanks

I'm awaiting the answers also and in the mean time hoping that the various slants that have been put on interpreting my intensions won't mislead others from the genuine purpose of why I postied this thread.

NAM continues to lose good people due to the constant bashing, nitpicking and just turning threads into thrash and I have been guilty of this in the past as well.

If you like a vendor and there product buy it if not buy someone else's. Lots of good stuff happening and big events coming up so just enjoy your car.

Your "genuine" purpose is BS and most if not all see right through you.

I for one am not a Fanboi as some other people MAY be. (i'm not saying anyone is, just making a general statement)

I don't have a lot of money to spend on my car anymore. If I can get the same exact part with a different name for half the price, you better damn well know i'm going for the cheaper one.

I pick and choose what parts I like from each vendor. I have parts from all diffeent vendors on my car. I go with what is the best bang for the buck. I like the RMW head. I will probably get it. As soon as Jan comes up with a tune by mail service, I will probably go with that as well. (Until I go TC at least, then its standalone time) Same goes for the header. Bang for buck, the street header is one hell of a nice piece. But if I can get the cam from another vendor, in this country or not, for half the price, thats what i'm going for.

So are you trying to say this is like M7 telling people their coilover are made in the EU when they are really made in Asia?

See this is exactly what I mean. Be careful what you post on other mini sites. I've read your opinions and comments about RMW so don't blow smoke up my A$$.

No, not really.

I was more just pointing out that the same transparent agendas happen(ed) on both sides.

There are tons of examples that one could list but an example being:

There were R53 owners asking questions and challenging the validity of the aerodynamics for an R56 spoiler developed by M7 that they never planned on purchasing. That hardly fooled anyone.

The fact of the matter is that both sides have done this where someone plans to challenge the other vendor by asking pointed questions with hopes of revealing the answer they're looking for.. In order to avoid getting the thread locked, they need to put on a fake politeness or innocence. They pretend they are asking these questions out of innocent curiosity or for the good of other consumers.

You can't honestly say that there aren't agendas on both sides can you? The point of this thread is transparent just as all of the M7 bashing was. It's not like any of the M7 critics were ever tricking anyone. This is the same tactics just turned around.

Ok the mesage on keeping the respect is apparently missed. Thread closed. Infractions handed out.

Take what you can out of the debate that has been had an I think there is a non definitive answer to this.
