It's necessary change a new camshaft with mods?

Hi there,
have a question about my car, already bought many mods for my car like JCW CAI,ALTA echaust, ALTA intercooler, ALTA header, 380cc JCW inyectors, Minipowerprog soft, colder plugs...but i don't know if it's necessary to change the camshaftr for one better or with the stock one is fine, some people here told me that a new camshaft will break the engine, what should i do?
thanks

Nope, no need to swap out the cam unless you want even power, but I would do a pulley before that, cheaper, easier and more power than a cam.

+1 Do a pulley then if your still craving more power do a cam, I would suggest the RMW cam. I haven't installed mine yet but its supposed to give more power across the whole RPM range, rather than just the top end. Do a search and you can find some more info.

Edit: You probably wont want to install those injectors until you have a smaller pulley.

If anyone here on NAM said a camshaft change would break the engine, I certainly hope they go hide in the corner in shame.

thank you, yes i have a pulley 15%, didn't remember to mentioned before, after see the post from NAM, will go definately for the RMW cam, i saw they have also headers, cyl head, exhausts...for the cyl head i need also a good core exchange, do you recomend to change the cyl head with all that mods?

Depends on what you're looking for, and how you drive your car. The head will make the biggest difference at the top end - if you track the car and spend lots of time at 5000+ RPM, you'll see a big gain from the head. The cam+header is a great combo that makes a big impact across the whole RPM range. And you need the cam and header to get the most out of the head, anyway... my recommendation is to do the RMW cam and header, then if you're still looking for more in the top end, save for the head.

One word of caution - the header adds LOTS of sound to the car by replacing the very restrictive stock exhaust manifold. Whatever exhaust you have, the header will make it significantly louder. I personally like this... but some folks have been surprised by that change. The Alta exhaust is particularly LOUD with the RMW header...

wow what sound,it is very loud, i saw it today on youtube also, that mini has the exhaust and header from RMW? i think with that sound would be a big problem od DB, and police all the time...with the Alta sportone exhaust is possible to add the RMW header? and it is necessary the 400cc inyectors from RMW? because i have the 380cc JCW

I think that was the alta exhaust in the video with an RMW header. It is possible to add the RMW to all exhausts. The 380 injectors are fine unless you getter a bigger cylinder head then you want 440cc injectors.

zackly... now that there are more cams to choose from ( schrick/ Newman/ Cat /1320/ RMW ect..,) and the Cam is a straight forward install ( usually 2 hours or less) It will help thru the entire rpm band. then add the Header, the exhaust, and the head .. this will allow for the major cost ( the Head) as a last mod!! then the tune to finish it all up!! cool??

Just me............................
