Cusco LSD maintenance

Are there any maintenance/driveability issues with this LSD?

Life of the clutch pack under "normal" use (a few track days, canyon runs, etc...)

Good question, probably why I would still do a Quaife at this point if I had to pull my tranny, as I still havent heard an answer on this yet.

i don't know much about cusco and mini, but from what i've read and heard cusco is a trusted name with japanese imports. check out their website http://www.cusco.co.jp/en/index.html. cusco is definetly quality

when randy smalley pulled the cusco's for inspection after much racing abuse, he said that they looked "new". not sure of the recommended rebuild interval.

Oh yeah, quality isnt so much what interests me, the fact that racers are using basically tells me what I need to know there. However it's still a clutch type LSD which typically need R&R of the clutches. So I guess the question is, does the Cusco last a reasonable amount of time before maintenance?

Exactly why I ask......I know they are a high quality unit, but I would like to know about maintenance.

I am sure I could and get an answer, but I trust the responses I get here from folks that have actually used the product as opposed to the corporate line.

compaines like cusaco aint your average so know what they are on about when they design the diff but you are right too as it does help when people who have tracked or streeted can chime in

I'm late to this thread but here's my 2 cents...

I run the Cusco LSD's in all my race cars. . . to date, NOT ONE has required any maintenance. After lots of racing abuse they look virtually new. We do use the Cusco oil and change it after every event. The units are set up at 60% lock up.

I sold all my Quaife some time ago and replaced them with the Cusco Diff. The Cusco is HANDS above the Quaife in a front drive Mini.

If you install a Cusco, I can confidently say, there is no ongoing maintenance needed.

Randy
