Please can someone upload a video of their boost gauge readings

Hi all,

I have taken a video of my boost readings on my Cooper S after the following modifications:

ECU Remap
DDM CAI
3" De-cat Turbo Back

Im a bit disappointed because Im sure some of you guys over in the US are getting 21psi on overboost with the Alta PnP ECU, whereas I am only getting about 16... Can someone please post a video of their boost gauge

This was done in 3rd gear on a level stretch of road with full foot to the floor acceleration with Sport Mode ON and DSC OFF. Temperature was around 1.5degrees celcius

Please post up your vids

I posted a quick vid on my youtube page when briefly tested the Alta PnP...we had sporadic readings upwards of 20...but ended up sending back the unit due to cels, car sputtering, turning off, you name it.

Now thinking about it, 21 lbs is a lot of boost to be running on the stock S, that small turbo and stock wastegate. Goodness we only had it on for less than 1 hour.

I think the 20-21 psi is with the upgraded intercooler tune.

I installed my boost gauge last night I am still checking that everything is conected the right way and that I don't have any leeks and I am still programming the gauges but so far I have seen 19 psi - 19.5 psi or 1.31 if I am not wrong

Hi

My car is crazy, when my car is cold it doesn't boost more than 15 psi but once it get to it normal temperature the beast comes out. Today for the first time I saw a 21 psi spike racing with a new mustang V8 and 06 Sti.

This is well annoying, is 21psi safe??
Mine wont go above 16.5psi!! and thats with overboost! Once that has gone it goes back to between 14 and 15!!

I think the alta defeates the over boost feature and runs the max psi allowed by the map and the turbo.

Did you get it tuned for the current mods? Was the map tuned at a dyno for your car? If so time for a re-map... since i think you added the intercooler later.

Well 20-21 psi is what I was getting on my wife's car with just a turbo-back exhaust and intake...

15 psi on a cold engine, Ouch!! Doesn't sound too good for the longevity of the engine.

The car boost 10 psi and get a 15 Psi spike, I dont think that is going to hurt the engine or the turbo.

Also when I tell you "cold engine" im talking about starting my engine in the morning with a outside temperature of 80+ degrees. Not compare to you in the states with cold weather and the snow.

While I am in the states. I don't experience any cold weather or snow (Miami). By cold engine I don't mean freezing temperatures outside, I mean the engine is not up to operating and optimal temperature. Running 10lbs with a 15 lb spike is not the healthiest for an engine that has not been warmed up yet. But anyways the original question for the thread was overall boost level readings with upgraded ECU's.

My boost gauge seems to be reading instant to 15 and as the revs go up it slowly goes to 19, but for some reason it sometimes doesn't pass 17 on time days, wonder where that 2 psi is? Seems like people getting 21 psi are those with downpipes.
